Someone in the chat had to have that jornalist in their contracts to add. Why would that be? How did they know he already had signal?
It then could be fat fingering and they meant the peron about or below the journalist of just another person names goldberg.
They want the eurpeans to conduct this war and its mostly all their shipping in danger.
They could care less if the houti a know they are coming. Iraq in both wars knew the exqact day
They want all their systems on so they can identify more targets to hit and put them out of business.
I recently contacted my team leader from long ago as he is retired as a three star. He told me by email he would call by signal so he knew aout it and thats another use they did not talk about secure phone calls.

I think the administration was mole hunting.
Or; What weren’t we all looking at while we focused on this story?

I think this was intentional. Say something to someone on “accident” who you know is going to run and blab to everyone. Good way to convey a point to certain individuals or countries all the while doing it unofficially.
At work I have said certain things to an individual who I know blabs everything to everyone. Good way to for me to convey a certain point or attitude to a different department manager without having to do with official channels and procedures.

You are exactly right.
They may very well have found a mole.
Either that or an incompetent.
Trump reveals who was behind Signal text chain leak
President Donald Trump revealed a staffer with national security advisor Mike Waltz's office added the editor in chief of the Atlantic to a Signal group chat.

Seems like it wasnt as big of a deal as the left wants it to be. And it was a staffer who added this so called journalist to the group chat.

But, as it turns out, the reporter was sensationalizing the contents of the conversation to the point of outright lying about them.
It's like anyone who believes anything they say without confirmation is a moron.

It’s nok that the reporter was part of the group chat with top level sec/def staff.
Does anyone believe that the staffers would publicly admit that classified info was contained in that chat?
If this happened to Biden administration officials this forum would have been livid.
We need to stop making excuses for politicians and demand better from them. It’s not a football game of blue vs red. The decisions they make affect all of us, no matter who is making them.
I’d love to see screenshots of the whole thing now that’s it’s been publicly stated that nothing classified was discussed. $50 bet that we never see it.

Well, what was released today clears that up. Clearly sensitive info regarding strike times and operational results.
But, even last night, the following was abundantly clear:
- These were the highest-level officials discussing details about military operations and political considerations that we would not want released to the public.
- They were discussing information and reactions to information provided to them by the DoD and intelligence services, which I guarantee was delivered with top secret classification headings. Which means they were absolutely discussing classified information.
- Russia, China, and Europe are certainly poring over all of these details to glean information about military procedures, how the administration carries out business, and the thought process of the administration.

Yet General Miley called his counter-part in China and said "if Trump make a move on China or Taiwan, I'll give you a heads up" ~~~~ and no one batted an eye.
First the "journalist" should have said something the minute he realized he was included in the wrong chat. yep, it's not his fault, but he should have said or tweeted something to the affect of "hey, you clowns included me, did you mean to do that"
But no, he's one of the radical assholes that is more than willing to compromise our country and our troops for head lines.

You would think so, but apparently this ONE texting app, Signal, is the only app even allowed in their phones/computers. Seems odd, but that's the story.

Do you have a link to the actual conversation?
All I can find are articles discussing it and their conclusions are all apparent before you even read the headline.
Just look at the URL to see where it's published and you know whether the article will claim it's either a nothing burger or it's the full nuclear codes.

Yes, it was not OK that a staffer added the journalist to the conversation. If you don't find that suspicious, then I don't know what to say.
They could have held it face to face in a SCIF if one of the participants was planning on smuggling out a recording, you would have the same result.
It's also not OK that the government can't provide a useful secure communication channel that doesn't suck. This was recognized by the Biden administration when *they* authorized Signal to be used for this sort of conversation.
And let's be clear. Nothing got "hacked" here. This wasn't a case of using an insecure means of communication. This was literally a case of some staffer adding a mole.

Guess Which DC Judge Was Just Assigned to SignalGate Lawsuit
I doubt anyone in their correct and intellectually honest mind would believe this DC drawing assigning Judge James Boasberg to the recently filed lawsuit against the Trump national security cabinet members on the signal chat, was random. There are 20 judges in the DC pool eligible to hear the case [CASE DETAILS HERE] and with a 1:20 chance, Judge James Boasberg was assigned.
American Oversight is a left-wing Lawfare outlet who sue President Trump while sipping coffee daily. This time they are suing the administration to force govt preservation of the Signal app ‘non-classified’ chat messages that have already been published to the public.
WASHINGTON DC – U.S. District Judge James Boasberg — the object of President Donald Trump’s fury for blocking his effort to summarily deport Venezuelan nationals using wartime powers — just got a second crack at the administration’s handling of national security: Signalgate.
Boasberg on Wednesday morning was assigned to preside over a lawsuit alleging that Trump cabinet secretaries and national security aides violated federal record-keeping laws when they used a Signal chat group to discuss a planned military strike in Yemen — and inadvertently included an Atlantic journalist in the group. SCIFs are pretty strict about what goes in or out of them. Like, no recording devices, cell phones, laptops etc. Even getting new keyboards or mice in there can be a real PITA. Notes made in the SCIF can't be taken out. A participant could certainly still relay a discussion from memory, of course.
Agreed.

“Waltz said Tuesday on Fox News that he takes "full responsibility" for creating the group, but he also sought to deflect responsibility for Goldberg's inclusion by suggesting that Goldberg may have somehow inappropriately inserted himself — something that doesn't appear to be possible under Signal's known operating system. “Now, whether he did it deliberately or it happened in some other technical mean is something we’re trying to figure out,” Waltz said, adding that "the best technical minds" for Elon Musk would be looking into the matter.”
Give me a break. Goldberg “inappropriately inserted himself” into their Signal group? The only thing being inappropriately inserted anywhere is pretty obvious if just bend over and take it.

It's entirely possible for him to "insert himself" if the staffer who added him was acting under his direction.
That really does raise the question of *why* he was added.

Who is this phantom “staffer?” Mike Waltz said he created the group himself. You might want to look into this a little. Waltz chose the incorrect contact per his own admission. Nobody fucked this up for him. He fucked up all on his own. Not sure why it’s so hard to admit that a human error was made by an imperfect human. Ain’t none of us perfect, old son. Mistakes get made. Man up, own up. Learn from it. But dodging, deflecting and blaming others is what we accuse our political rivals of doing while we dodge, deflect and blame others. America. Land of the free thinkers. Nope.
