I honestly don't give a fuck who other people vote for but to try and say well Republicans won almost 40 years ago we are pretty much a swing state is honestly funnier than me voting libertarian because I know a vote for that or trump won't do shit
Any Support for the Independant Candidate Jo Jorgensen?

Haha no it does matter.. we are a blue state not a swing state. We aren't a state that people watch close because it could go either way.... it goes one way and has for almost 4 decades.

That’s not what’s being said. What’s being said is the possibility of it happening. Astorino was just a few years ago. It came really close.
I dont remember seeing Astorino on the potus ballot?
And yes someone literally said ny could be close aka might be a swing state

OMG. Edward. You are right. Vote for who you want. It will make a huge difference. Happy?
I mean I'm pretty sure I implied to even said my vote wasn't going to make a difference

Honestly, I don't think NY will even be a close election (though I would be surprised if Trump doesn't do relatively better this time around). I think the only good reason in NY to vote 3rd party is if you can't, in good conscience, vote for Trump or Biden and want to vote your principle like Edteach seems to be doing. I'm not holding out for a NY swing state. I just want to pad Trump's popular vote numbers because that's more important to me than voting for a candidate whose ideals I agree with more and has no shot at all.

You won Edward. No need for this constant back and forth. You are correct. What you do for your reasons is 100 percent correct. What you said or didn’t say isn’t worth arguing over.
Nobody shouldn’t have said anything. Differing opinions and previous outcomes aren’t welcome here. I get it.

It would take a complete overhaul of the constitution to change the 2 party system.
Short of that all you can do is change the names of the 2 parties.
If you *did* manage to kick the Dems out and replace them with the Libertarians the people would quickly realign themselves into the same left/right groups and force the new parties back into the old molds.
If you want to change, you need to change the zeitgeist. Drag everyone in both parties toward liberty. Anything else won't make a difference.
Outlaw the Democrats and replace them with the Libertarians and you'd have Pelosi running as a Republican and Pence as a Libertarian in 2024.

In think the only way to fix this is not to have primaries at all. Do everything on Election Day. Whoever is running, runs. You get a choice of Biden, Harris, Pocahontas, Trump, Paul, Cruz, Carlson, whatever quack the libertarians want to put in their, etc.
Then afterwards the winner picks their VP.

I don’t think it can be fixed without a fundamental restructuring of our government.
I'm not even sure there *is* a fix.
Democracy (and by extension our democratic republic) is a terrible form of government. It’s just that the others are all even worse.

“Break the two party system”. While I agree with that statement, voting for JoJo or however will just make you feel better For a moment . It will do nothing in the long run.

It baffles me how many people on this forum are willing to vote for the most anti-gun president we've had since Clinton (Trump) and then point the finger at people like us that are voting with the pro-2A candidate. ON A PRO-2A FORUM! LOL some of you have been drinking too much kool-aid.
"But the Republicans will SLOWLY take away our gun rights. The Democrats will take them away immediately."
Republicans had their chance with me when they could've voted on 50 state reciprocity. That ship has long since sailed.
I'm voting #Jo2020

And cock sucking Harris is Biden’s running mate so what’s your point?
Did you vote for Gillibrand?
She was as pro gun as this Jo says she is.
How did that turn out?
Politicians, especially new ones with no track record say ANYTHING to get elected. Its difficult the first time, its much easier as an incumbent.
I will all but guarantee her stance on guns wavers within months of being in office.
Remember Bernie used to be pro gun......not anymore.
They all say and do what they need to at the moment.
If youre voting for her because of her stance on guns, you might be disappointed.

Bernie's platform: Democratic socialism- inherently anti-gun.
Jo's platform: Libertarianism- inherently pro-gun.

While I agree with you nearly 100% and I have thought about voting for Jo I do t think it will.
I want to send a message to the NYS demonrats because I think this is the closest a republican will ever come to winning a presidential race in NYS. Now do I think Trump will take NYS, fuck no I’m not that stupid. I think it will be closer than we have been in 50 years with the mass exodus from NYC.
I’m not 100% sure what I’ll do but in general I lean toward Trump. I’m a conservative libertarian but don’t think she’s got what it takes to has close to enough support for a major bid. Too bad as this would be a great third party year.

And what do you really think would happen if this whole forum voted for Jo and her quack VP who changed his name due to watching a My Little Pony cartoon, wants to legalize recreational plutonium, construct a Waffle House on every corner, and wants to go back in time to assassinate Woodrow Wilson ? Please give us an honest answer.
Jo herself isn’t serious about winning by picking him as her VP. She’s trolling you and you fell hook, line, and sinker.

There is a lot more to a candidate than a platform.
I'd rather have a candidate with a mediocre platform that can deliver than one with a spectacular platform that they're guaranteed to be unable to implement.
The world I want is pretty hardcore libertarian. But I recognize that at this moment in history just slowing down the authoritarian avalanche is the best we can hope for.
Do not over reach and guarantee failure.

If you actually think that's true, the Libertarians trolled you, not me.
Taking things out of context and then twisting them around is what the leftist-sponsored main stream media does.

I want to like the Libertarians. I really really do. But why do they put such sucky candidates up, especially at the national level?

You got fo be kidding.
Dimwit Jo's Libertarian VP running mate has trolled their potential voters by promising "free cheesy bread and Waffle Houses on every corner." He also pledged "to fund time-travel research and then go back to kill Baby Adolf Hitler with a pledge to kill Baby Woodrow Wilson, too."
He is not a serious candidate and is in fact a joke whose trolling antics are an embarrassment for any serious political party. He loathes Libertarians and openly self identifies as an anarchist.
Not gonna waste my vote on that clown show when there are better clowns.
