No one is more ignorant of the law than anyone who thinks the Constitution gives us our rights. It does not. It protects our rights from government abuse, denial, and infringement.

That is New York Civil Rights Law article II, § 4, and it is NOT part of the State Constitution. The right to bear arms is statutory law, but again, it is NOT written in the State Constitution.
