Yes.

Round them up too with the illegals and hold them accountable for the actions of these rioters. Throw no bullshit serious federal charges on them and make examples out of them. Give them the J6 treatment.

It seems at most the individual will become a useful idiot pawn for the lefts cause. Cliff notes, he's doing asshole things, legally carrying just like many of us here do while exercising his 2nd amendment rights, events quickly escalate and he ends up dead.

Just trying to be impartial and consistent that until all facts are known we might have a very different reaction if "one of us" was this guy in the same situation doing the same thing at a liberal organization. Just trying to be consistent.

And that's the problem, the left is going to double down and use this as an example of why their actions are now justified and their fears are valid. They will riot more now. At some point the federal gov is either going to have to decide to back down and leave MSP and let the rioters become emboldened, or, double down and really escalate their enforcement and round up all the ringleaders and agitators including local politicians and charge them with no bullshit serious charges like conspiracy, etc. this has potential to really get interesting.

If it were a Right Wing Rally I guarantee I would feel the same.

I might call the guy a Patriot ... but I'd still find the shooting justifed.

No LEO should be required to stand down and die.

This guy is not like many of us here.

I was streaming an upper midwest radio station and it was brought up (and apparently confirmed in the media) that he was not "legally" carrying. Contrary to Minnesota law he was carrying without having his permit and government issued photo ID (eg drivers license). Not a major criminal infraction but it appears to be enough that his carry permit could have been revoked. Based on required CCP training in MN, the Minnesota 2A attorney on the radio thought the deceased likely left his ID behind intentionally.

There was also discussion on toxicology tests to confirm if he violated CCP laws on alcohol / substance.

The lawyer indicated the area shooting took place was not a Minnesota restricted location but it was questioned if he had carried / parked in a restricted location (IDK, guessing they previously discussed a restricted hospital, school or post office parking lot).

Yeah, it's in the weeds stuff but it looks like he made a choice to not be legal.

Still, I don't think many of us here would conceal carry without our ID / permit and while armed seek out an arrest activity to start wrestling with armed law officers. He was not there to watch protesters, he was there to disrupt an obvious active enforcement action.

It's a shame the guy was shot and died but he was not a responsible concealed carrier caught up in an unfortunate turn of fate. In both foresight and hindsight he was doing dumb shit. If he left his ID behind (as the protestors have been doing) because he figured he may get in an altercation .... WTF.

In NY I think we all understand the additional burdens and responsibilities that a concealed carrier takes to further manage avoidable confrontations, we aim to keep even calmer when taunted while carrying, we try to ignore road rage jerks even more when carrying, we find ourselves actively being the gray man with a heightened situational awareness anticipating what could go wrong ... especially during mutual risks such as routine traffic stops when interacting with law enforcement .

Some of my positive thoughts on this shooting is due to my overall positive view of LE.

I know many do not view LE as I do.

I hope I am correct and this goes down as a good shooting.

The reason for that is that President Trump won't/can't pull the Feds out of Minneapolis.
He can't pull them out, he can't cede an American city to the enemy. That would be surrendering to the insurrectionists, and that's not an option for Trump or America. Not even something that can be or should be considered. IMO.

So yeah, shits going to escalate until the insurrectionists are defeated.

I saw this theory and it looks likely to me. But whether it was an AD from the recovered gun or just an agent screaming "gun!" in the scrum, this is clearly still a lawful/awful justifiable shooting. Pretti barged armed into the middle of a law enforcement operation because he was angry about Renee Good (his parents are on the record about this), and he repeated her exact stupidity.

Getting into and interfering with a police operation is always criminally stupid. Doing so while armed is suicidally stupid. And afterwards, resisting arrest and doing anything other than being completely compliant and keeping your hands open, visible and away from your body while being arrested is inviting the natural consequences of what can happen.

This was a chaotic situation with many agents in a scrum and Pretti was still resisting arrest. Some or most of them may not have known that a gun was recovered, and regardless, he was still struggling and resisting. Many people carry multiple weapons. They had no way to know if he didn't have a secondary gun or knife. Ideally no cop should have fired a gun until they had better situational awareness, but when you have a split second and hesitating could mean loss of life, cops get the benefit of the doubt.

And an AD with a recovered gun actually makes the shooting more, not less justified, although unfortunate. If he hadn't interfered with their operation he never would have been detained. If he hadn't resisted, the gun could have been recovered in an orderly and safe fashion without a chaotic scrum. Pretti made an entire series of bad choices resulting in his death. And less than perfect-in-hindsight execution by the police doesn't make them criminally responsible.

The problem with people on the left is that they think this is a game. It's not.

You cooperate right up until it's time to resist. But if you decide it's time to resist, then you'd better be planning to kill every single one of them, because that's what it's going to take.

You do *not* "resist a little".

When it comes to real tyranny, it's all or nothing. At no point does it ever make sense to do the petty prank level of bullshit the left is doing. So, he should have either stood by and done nothing, or shot the first guy in the face. There is no in between.
