I keep saying, a CIVIL suit against the Gov and those who pushed and researched legislation is the best impact to these folks. The legal review is not happening, the people writing are not fully researching; negligence. Yes, CIVIL suit would be a great option (add this to when you have to use your firearm and are then charged). DO NOT settle (settlements are usually what the State provided insurance provides at Tax payers dime) and part of the result of the suit should include public apology (approved by the applicant) and immediate change of law. They want more liability for gun owners well how about them and this decision? Of a kid gets abused because of this can we sue them? We all know that answer.
As I understand it from conversations with Albany insiders, most of the Legislation proposed by Legislature Representatives DOES NOT come from those who propose it; Special Interests actually write the Bill and give it to the Legislator they funded for election (re bought & paid for) That proposal is reviewed by a Staffer who may or more likely may not be "on the Ball" so it gets rubber stamped and politically played to be heard by the Body and sent to the codes committee....The Assembly passes everything, lots of stuff fails in Committee only to be resubmitted in a slightly reworded version the next session, the Senate similarly does the same thing, either way a companion Bill has to be made and voted on...the one thing that saves us over Party lines is the bureaucracy and ego driven Politics between Members to get their own way...Do you not think if there was a clear Bill to Ban .50 caliber Rifles it wouldn't pass all three (D) Levers into Law? Their ineptitude and tit-for-tat mentality keeps a lot from getting done or perhaps it's a sinister way of extorting moreI keep saying, a CIVIL suit against the Gov and those who pushed and researched legislation is the best impact to these folks.
