While I think every American that can carry should, I am also torn on this. With the exception probably of the Marines, Pete's "warfighters" are not as skilled as he thinks. If you remove combat arms there is a significant percentage of MOSs that do very little actual soldiering. Combat arms are their own problem. Young guys full of spice that want to fight over nothing at the drop of a hat.

This implies the 2A is for “actual warfighters.”

A vegetable on life support is entitled to their 2A rights.

Honestly I don't know anymore...they used to have a few on Post, but that largely fell away.
The Army HAS changed, and since I'm retired and seldom go into Town, certainly not the Bars/Clubs, so I do not see many Soldiers anymore...at one time we had 5K Troops stationed here, but not now.
