lol, nothing was taken from Mexico. Have you ever read The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo?

Conquered maybe, paid for yes…but where did the Spanish get it from? Oh yeah, they conquered it from the Aztecs.

Don't ask where the Aztecs got it.

There's a reason that every other tribe in the area sided with the Spanish.

"These new guys want to force us to convert to their religion !!!"

"Sure, but at least they don't demand we turn over our children for them to sacrifice every year".

Wasn't discussing geography ... but merely brought up a sarcastic comment someone made that was ironically (and more aptly) applicable to Russia's war in Ukraine where Putin was seeking "a quick victory and regime change" with catastrophic consequences.

While we're at it, congratulations to the war mongers on the Dumbass thread for their quick victory and regime change.

U.S. had the benefit of seeing Russian miscalculation and much less of a reason to start a war with Iran. Russia for all its sacrifice is gaining territory. U.S. is fighting to restore status quo on Straits of Hormuz, which was open to shipping before the war.

Ya think? We all have seen what the hard core communist leftists do when they take power. When Republicans get it, they sit on their fucking hands! Thats why I feel they serve the same master giving an illusion that we have a choice. Sure there are what we see as wins here and there but they are tiny in the scheme of things. There should be constant perp walks everyday of these Constitution betraying treasonous bastards. They are all criminals.

Iran needs an Ataturk like figure to emerge, put the mullah's in place, and rewrite their version of a constitution separating mosque and state. It will be bloody but seems to be the only way out of the fanatical regime.

Qatar's foreign ministry condemned Iran's attacks on the nations of Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait today.

"The State of Qatar strongly condemns the repeated Iranian attacks on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Kuwait, considering them a blatant violation of the sovereignty of these countries and a flagrant breach of international law."

"The Ministry reiterates the State of Qatar's full solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Kuwait, and its support for all measures they take to uphold their sovereignty and security," it added.

According to Reuters Iran instructed terrorist proxy Houthis in Yemen to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea if the United States attacks Iranian power infrastructure.

A source close to the Houthis reported missiles and drones had been deployed near the waterway to prepare for a potential order to begin attacking shipping.

Edmund Fitton-Brown, a former British ambassador to Yemen said

"It will be interesting if the Houthis do go all in, and resume their campaign against Red Sea shipping with full intensity. This will draw international anger and likely result in Israeli and U.S. strikes on Sana’a and Hodeida."

"While the Houthis have largely refrained from attacking shipping for about a year, they have continued to advance their maritime capabilities, including missiles, drones and sea mines. They may not be able to fully close the strait, but they could significantly disrupt shipping and raise costs and risks for commercial traffic."

I'm listening.

If people don't genuinely go to prison and/or get treated as treasonous traitors, there is no hope.

If there aren't serious punishments there's no saving this.

Cliff notes so far, US Intel agency analysts knew China was manipulating elections and took no action to stop or intervene and allowed it to happen.

John Kiriakou just exposed the whole grift:

Miriam Adelson paid for the war. Trump delivered. Israel convince Trump that this was going to be a two or three day war but Iran is still standing. There was no Plan B.

The American people are stuck with a war bought and paid for by a casino magnate who wanted a regime change for her favorite country.

This somewhat aligns with my theory I posted from earlier in the thread

No more forever wars. Well, except for this one. This one is ok. It’ll be over by August. October at the latest. Definitely by January or June. Of what year, you ask? Come on, no one knows! Just stick with the Plan, uh, Project. You know, Project 2025 that laid this all out. Yeah, that one. It’s all in there, spelled out, clear as a smoke-free summer day.

You can spin this any way you want. It was a Mexican territory lost in a war.

Texas ?

By that theory, NY is British.

The other stuff ? It's been American a lot longer than it was ever Mexican. Mexico took it from Spain and only held it for a couple decades themselves before it was ours.

Spain took most of Mexico from the Aztecs, who themselves slaughtered a bunch of tribes to acquire it all.

The name of the civilization of the first humans who actually set foot in Mexico and could be said to have discovered unclaimed land is long lost to history.

All you're doing is picking favorites among the conquerors.

By that theory, maybe Mongolia should claim most of Russia.

If it's really a forever war, you'd have a point.

But a couple months is a bit early to declare that.

And in some sense, this might be the beginning of end of a forever war that's been going on sonce 1979. If that works out, it'll be a very good thing.

It does look like it's going to drag on long enough to be a major problem in the midterms though.

None of your points are contentious or arguable.

This little dustup *IS* taking quite a bit longer than we were initially led to believe it would last. But it sure ended the Epstein talk.

I was hopeful that we might be done by mid July, but far from confident.

The clock is ticking for the midterms, and it looks now like there's no way this will be wrapped up in time to not have a detrimental effect there.

Time will tell where and when this ends.

I think one thing that *is* dragging it out is that Iran is hopeful that if they can hang on till midterms the Democrats will be able to offer them some relief. They might not be wrong about that.

If the midterms go badly for the Republicans, then I think the Iran situation will get worse.

If they somehow manage to hold the house, then I think it will wrap up quickly, if it hasn't already by then.
