Couldn't agree more. I used to spend a fair amount of time in Oregon when my Father In Law was still alive. The Columbia Rover Gorge and the Pacofic Northwest is just stunning.

I absolutely loved it.
Of the national parks I've been to, this is how I would rank the ones I've seen so far, just my preference on how I felt being there.
1 Yosemite (10 out of 10 completely impressed. And I didn't even get out of the valley floor. I want to go back and go up top to glacier point)
2 Zion (could have rivaled Yosemite if it wasn't insanely crowded and stupid buses to get anywhere)
3 Sequoia (way under rated/under appreciated)
4 Grand canyon (love it, glad I saw it but wouldn't be at the top of my list to see again)
5 Great Smoky mountain (I wanted to put Bryce canyon above GSM but I really like this park, it's my happy place, feel at home here)
6 Bryce canyon (really liked it but the day I was there hiking was a mess it was super muddy and slippery and kinda sketchy super cool to see)
7 New River gorge (really cool but nothing blows me away)
I think I'm forgetting a park
And I am probably going to visit Congaree national park within the next week or 2.

Want to hit up the northern Rockies (Yellowstone, Teton and glacier)
And depending how much time we have maybe make a side quest to badlands or craters of the moon or something
I went to Rushmore on the way back. Kinda regret the extra time and miles to be honest. Custer was great though! Not sure how long you plan on your trip but I’d say glacier deserves the most attention

Next time you go out plan some hikes in The Bob, you’ll deal with a lot less tourist.

I’d recommend waiting until October-ish. It’ll be much more enjoyable.
The best way to see Congaree is a kayak trip down Cedar Creek.

Yeah she had those too, they cleaned everything out behind the eardrum bones were fine and patched the hole in the eardrum . She goes back to see the surgeon the end of August.

Just did the boardwalk loop. It's about 2.5 miles and it's mostly all in the shade so it was tolerable.
Saw lots of interesting little critters and creatures. Definitely glad we went to check it out. It's a unique place.
