The White House has filed a petition with the Supreme Court asking for an immediate administrative stay of the DC District Court injunction blocking construction of the Ballroom and Military complex [SEE FILING HERE].

The baseline argument is very solid on several grounds, including standing. A single complaint from a woman who walks by the White House once per month and holds the opinion of the complex as an eyesore is not standing to block the construction. Additionally, several agencies of the Executive Branch stand in support of the construction on presidential security, safety and national security grounds.

The structure extends five stories deep into the ground, and is built with hardened concrete, steel, and rebar; protective missile-resistant columns, roofs, and beams; drone proof ceilings and roofs; and bullet, ballistic, and blast-proof glass. … The Project includes bomb shelters, state-of-the-art hospital and medical facilities, protective partitioning between all areas of the building, top secret military structures and equipment, military-grade venting, a single integrated air conditioning and heating system, sniper nests, and a drone port on top, elevated by the structure of the ballroom, to protect the White House and surrounding region from aerial attacks — “one of the nation’s largest emerging threats.”

Alarming: Trained CCP Sniper Now Owns Building Overlooking White House

Senator Eric Schmitt
https://twitter.com/SenateGOP
Sometimes a piece of information comes along that you just know is something that can't possibly end well. And sometimes, these can be real head-scratchers. This is one such, an action that's so egregious that you have to wonder: Did nobody at all look at the national security aspect of all this?

And yet, here we are: A Chinese national, affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party, has purchased a building overlooking the White House, with line-of-sight, even. Oh, and he's a trained sniper. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) took to his X account with the news.

This is egregious.I’ve already called for national security reviews over Chinese purchases of land near military bases. Now a reported CCP intelligence official trained as a sniper bought a building overlooking the White House.Every alarm in Washington should be going off.

CCP intel official Philip Qiu, who is trained as a SNIPER, bought an historic building overlooking the White House. China is surrounding our military bases & key assets. Now, they’re a stone's throw from the President and his senior team. @LenczyckiPhilip's must read

There should be no privately owned property *anywhere* in DC.

It was intended to be the seat of government independent of any state. Not a little mini state in itself.

Give the outlying areas back to the states it came from, and buy back the rest.

No residents inside except those in temporary government housing tied to their job (like the white house).

Everyone else commutes in, and every business leases from the feds.

I expect everything we think it is, everything it was intended to be, and everything it really is are all completely different, which partially explains the shit-hole it's become.

The ONLY reason why people (ostensibly the Left) are bitching is because it's Trump...if it were Biden (and by default Obama controlling him) that had suggested, let alone actually done it, they'd be tripping over themselves with glee and gloat.

The 1942 rebuild of the wing was built to cover the bunker that was designed to go there.

I expect after 70 years that bunker probably needed more updates than you could reasonably do with the office building sitting on top of it.

So, the rebuild was planned, and Trump took the opportunity to include a much needed place for state events when it was being built.

But, OfC, the TDS is so severe that they would protest building a children's hospital if Trump said it was a good idea.
