If she tried to kill herself after murdering her children then she is not insane. She is severely depressed. That means she's competent to stand trial and be found guilty of murder.

She and the Defense also lied about her suicide attempt. She did not dive head first to kill herself, she jumped for a staged excuse.
There was no head Trauma, if she fell 13 feet headfirst onto hard, frozen ground, it was highly inconsistent for her to have no skull fractures, no brain bleeds, and no external head bruises or lacerations. Looks like she landed feet first.

NBC10 Boston posted a longer interview with the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. As I previously noted, it does not appear that the holdout ever used the words “reasonable doubt” - in reality they attempted to tell him he had doubt when he didn’t.
