And therein lies the problem with this in NYS…

It might be interesting if a plaintiff were to sue her and NYS arguing that if an 18-20 year old cannot purchase / aquire / own a handgun under a constitutionally protected right, that it must therefore also be illegal to be able to vote at 18? Same issue with “are you a legal adult at 18”, or at 21 when you can legally drink?

Just food for thought and spirited discussion, and in case such a lawsuit would make their heads explode!

No... she should be arrested for infringement of Rights under color of Law. Since she so nicely admitted it it should make the case easy.

The NYS safe act, in 2013, raised the age to purchase a handgun, and get a pp to 21.
Age 21 is now also the age to be able to purchase a semi auto rifle or shotgun, in NYS.

I’m not certain that you are correct on that.

My recollection is that it was 21 before NY(UN)SAFE, with a BS “exception” that allowed honorably discharged veterans who were under 21 to apply for, and possibly obtain one.

Basically, that was BS because by the time someone served a typical 4 year stint (maybe 2, but unlikely), beginning at 18, was honorably discharged, - and THEN applied and waited another 1-2 years for the PPO to get off their asses, he or she was already 21 or older.

Under the Biden Administration, an EO came down that NICS checks were to be "enhanced" and "Extended" to ten business days (which translates to over two weeks) for persons under 21 so that Mental Health, Juvenile, or any other Records could be examined to determine IF the applicant is worthy of exercising their Second Amendment Right.

Rules covering them are still in play, just remember those cover Semi-Automatic rifles. with differing ones covering semi-automatic Shotguns, and Semi-automatic Pistols; Pump, Levers, Revolver, bolt actions, etc. are not subject to the provisions of the un_SAFE Act.

And this ruling makes using age between 18 and 21 arbitrary.

What juvenile records? Prison Pipeline Act (when Biden was VP) stipulated that education institutions were forbidden from keeping records, sharing information with other schools/ DSS/DCPS/ law enforcement to protect a child from making a kid mistake. Cause/effect study was the Parkin shooting if you truly want to see it start to finish. Hence why Uvaldi, Buffalo and the rest would have happened in ANY gun shop.
