New Mexico is a sad odd mix at this point. If it wasn’t so odd with gun laws of consider moving there. It’s beautiful

Bruen stated that licensing is constitutional. Waiting periods must be reasonable.............or not.
NYS's is not "shall issue"..............so 6 month delays happen normally, for a CCP and Semi authorization.

Ten states including Vermont and Maine have waiting periods.

They picked here for a reason. Must think this area has the best chance of success or need to motivate voters in this area.

Yes, permits are constitutional but they can’t be overly costly or burdensome. Can you mandate a permit to purchase and a delay to pick up? It will be interesting to see where this goes.
It’s also never been put to the test with rifles. So if the right is too costly and burdensome and you need it to own them and not simply carry concealed those permits are denying a right. I’m not sure it’s ever been looked at from this angle before.

I’ll also add it appears they need to be renewed yearly and it takes 30 days to get the authorization from local police or sheriff’s to do this. The law states 30 days, but commonly goes twice as long. The state is breaking its law so they should be sued. The state makes the laws and then violates it. This has to stop.
