I've been seeing a Hochul campaign commercial the last few days that accuses Bruce Blakeman of (and I quote) "starting an armed MAGA militia."

That didn't sound right, so I used AI Overview to check it out. And to no surprise, it's a lie.

AI Overview -
Local Government Controversies: The phrase has also been used in direct political disputes. For example, critics and Democratic lawmakers in New York—including Governor Kathy Hochul—publicly criticized Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman (a Trump ally) over his creation of an armed civilian special deputy sheriff program, describing it as an "armed militia of untrained MAGA loyalists".

Blakeman defended the program, stating that the participants undergo background checks, training, and hold valid state carry permits to assist with public safety during emergencies.

She's such an asshole. I'm just saying.

Well Blakeman just said he will eliminate income tax on the first $50,000 earned for everyone.
This is a great idea. Most will spend it so the government won’t really lose tax revenue, the people will benefit, and great for a young person starting an Ira.

She is an incredible stupid cunt

And she will win again
Why?
Cheating
No one has ever pushed to see the NY voter registration rolls
No one has ever accused the machines of improperly counting votes
No one has enough fukkin brains to investigate the democrat corruption in this state
Factor in the stupidity of the voter and she will win again

Hold on for the continued fukkin
Bohica they say

She doesn't know what a militia is. She's just such a fear mongering alarmist to try and obfuscate from her failures and gin up fear.

She would very much not like a real conservative militia.

And...... this thread is definitely being monitored by our friendly neighborhood minders

Some people will believe Hochul no matter how ridiculous "Blakeman's armed MAGA militia" sounds. I knew it was a lie, but I'm not a dipshit leftie.

Some other people on the left will know it's a lie but will somehow believe it anyway just because they want to. That's how the dipshit lefties roll. They're delusional IMO.

People on the left will lie to themselves to fulfill their preconceived narrative. What kind of person lies to themselves? That's very strange.

I've seen it, they will lie to themselves just because they want something to be true. Very strange indeed. Lefties are broken people.

Some people still think she’s a great governor. They are easily fooled.

Whorchul isn't the problem, GOP apathy is. We..........I mean YOU guys, go through this every election cycle.

To many GOP supporters stay home. They simply don't care or, they feel their vote doesn't mean squat. Either way, my prediction is whorchul and the commie left will not only retain power, they will be embolden to pass more unconstitutional laws

Another Democrat who straight-up lied in his political commercials was former NY state senator Jeremy Zellner. The only reason I bring that up is that his lies about Trump/MAGA were easily disproven by a quick internet search. Just like this so-called armed MAGA militia thing was.

I want to get together a class action lawsuit for politicians who blatantly and obviously lie.

Companies can be sued for false advertising and deceptive claims. Let's do it up.

Candidates don't always post ads: "Friends of Xxxx" can get together, write some bullshit under the color of representing the candidate, spew whatever bullshit they want and the candidate is insulated because those words came from someone ostensibly supporting them giving plausible deniability.
No such thing as a honest candidate, sure as hell no such thing as a truthful democrat.

At the end of some political ads, the politician/candidate will say, " Fill in the blank approves of this message"

Or are they not doing that anymore? I lose interest by the end of the commercials so IDK. Doh!
I'll have to pay closer attention the next time, that won't take long, as lately there are a lot of Hochul political ads when I watch my local newscasts.

On a side note, I'm seeing a ratio of 6 or 7 Hochul commercials to Blakeman's 1 commercial.

Did you know NYS has a NY Militia separate from the National Guard? One of the few states that does.

Blakeman should continue the discussion that this group would not be needed IF State Government was able to Serve and Protect from the street to the bench. I'm actually surprised more haven't been established. That fact that the best she could do is call it a Armed Maga bunch must mean it was established legally and lawfully. So..... Her point is????

True but it’s a NYS Navel Militia. Far different from what whorechul is accusing Blakeman of establishing.
