Thanks for this. Saw this stupid pic this morning and wanted to say something, but I didn't wanna be that angry that early. I at least wanna get on the road before someone pisses me off.
Went and looked it up, shared this with some friends. I can already feel the hate from the fact check coming...
I'll have to do some shooting w/ this before I mess with it, but it has a lot of the features that I'd already want on my Shield or even the P30. The sights look great, the trigger seems crisp and light, and the grips give you a very reassuring feel in your hand. Since it only came w/ 1, what...
Weird packaging from them though. Just the plastic box, lock, paperwork regarding the twist/barrel characteristics, and the spent shells. No extra mag, no grip stuff, nothing.
Guess that means time to start shopping for it? It doesn't quite fit my Safariland holster that I use for the P30, so...
My stuff has started coming in.

Just waiting for a deal to happen on my hard drive and POE...
That would be great. I've been meaning to get my passport when I renew my license here, though I think enhanced driver's from NY does the trick. You are in Canadia, correct?
If I can find a Ruger in the price range, I'd love stainless w/ wood grips, but they seem to be a little rich for me right now. Definitely not opposed to getting a used one, if it was well taken care of.
I'm gonna go look locally tonight, see what I can find. Unfortunately, even if I do pull...
For some reason, I've just wanted one for a while. The P30 is technically my brother's from when he lived in VA, and he never got his permit up here, and I don't suspect he will. If he ever took it back though, I want another/my own full size to carry owb.
I'm looking for used or new, but not...
I like how, for a few dollars more, Safariland came out w/ those GLS Pro-Fit holsters that are almost the same idea, yet they moved their release away from that spot, to a way more comfortable place you can use without your trigger finger.
Got one for the P30 and love it. Reach down, release...
I assume you mean Bravo Concealment? Which do you recommend, there are quite a few on their site, as far as iwb goes. EDIT: looks like the Torsion one is what you're talking about. Interesting, I'll check it out.
Wearing it low, like slotting the holes more to let it ride lower? This doesn't...
It's not comfortable at 3 because it seems to sit right on my hip bone. I even tried this holster w/ penis danger carry yesterday, ha. If I had to and didn't sit down all day, I could do it. It's super uncomfortable for my leg though.
Sorry, don't mean to thread jack here and turn this into a gallery of holsters and how they fit, but I figure it's better than starting a new thread.
So, this isn't the leather one I usually carry but wanted to illustrate the kydex one I originally carried. The leather one likes the small of my...
:eek::eek::eek: I don't think I bend like that anymore. Well, maybe I do, but I don't recover as fast. It'll sound like a box of sticks being dropped off a roof and hitting the sidewalk below. Or maybe it'd sound like a box of cereal being stepped on.
So I checked out this claw deal, and the video I watched said it was only good for aiwb carriers? Are you guys recommending it only using it there too, or does it help all over? The issue it "fixes" is basically why I stopped carrying at 4:00, though I could just try to add more cant or find a...
@Defilade - what's this claw you speak of?
Also to note, I definitely need to get a holster that carries a spare mag. Don't like having to put them in my pockets
Yup, 100 percent agree. When I first started, I had a custom Kydex holster from a friend of mine that made it. I slotted the holes a bit and canted it as far forward as I could. It definitely took some of the print out of the equation and was definitely easier to draw, no argument there. I'll...
Like I said, I haven't taken any training, just do what is comfortable and isn't showing everyone that I'm carrying. I'm not fat, but I'm not skinny. When I first started carrying, I carried 4:00 iwb, it wasn't uncomfortable, but it was noticeable that I was carrying more than when I carry at 6...
If I was closer, I would. Are you just looking to get cheaper ammo, or just looking to shoot w/ more people.
(I give everyone a chance, at least until I see the bumps on their nose as the exit their position under the bridge.)
It'd be interesting to see. When I draw, I don't flag myself, as I keep it pointed down until I sweep it in front of me to the target.
SOB is easier for me because it actually hides well there. I get that it's easier to stop, but I can't carry skinny guy, and 3/4/5:00 carry is a lot more...
No, I have taken no formal training yet. Most I've done at home is dry fire drills w/ snap caps and practice drawing, shooting, reloading from the holster. If I were to take a class, I would not use my owb holster because my HK is not my carry gun, and I would want to practice w/ my Shield and...
I use a Cutt's Custom Leather IWB for my Shield, I carry it at 6:00, and I have a Safariland OWB for the P30 when I'm places I can open carry, or if I'm wearing a big enough jacket.
Hope it keeps getting better for ya, John. Moments like these are real eye-openers. My stepdad had a moment like this a number of years ago. 6'1" 260lbs or so, eating fast food a lot, smoking, and drinking every day. The doctor told him to "change this or die." That seemed to do the trick, he...
Thanks for the tips. I figured you don't just sit there and wait, so thanks for those links. It's for my dad, he registered his first. Bought a 2nd, but hasn't put it together yet or done anything else. I'll be talking to him tonight and telling him about this.
Ok, so question on this. Say you had a registered weapon and decided that you don't want to recert. Do you have to let them know that you made it compliant, or just let the registration lapse?
So what my neighbor did was buy a generic NVR and he figured out what standard it used for recording. In this case, I guess ONVIF. He just tossed an old 1TB hard drive into it, they have 3 cheap cameras that they have focused on their cars, front sidewalk, and front door. Outdoor light provides...
Oh, I know. I have a coworker who does this with one at his apartment complex to watch his walkway or parking spot. Either the IR's don't come on, or he doesn't have them (might be a primarily indoor unit), but it works for him.
I'm assuming most of the people who want a camera will have it up...
Don't take me completely literally. I'm sure some will mount them outside, and some will mount them inside, with an outside light shining where they want to watch.
Most could probably deal with something they have inside, and just aim it outside to watch the car doors they don't lock, or their mail/front door. They're not fussed. Some of them just want to watch walk/pathways near their house bc people hop fences or throw garbage around. For that last bit...
