I think Trump's "diplomacy" worked as intended. Iran launched ineffective missiles against a US base that had been completely evacuated, and Iran was kind enough to ring up Qatar and give them advance warning of the strike so nobody would get hurt. If this is the off-ramp, then Trump is a genius.
