No, I don't enjoy cleaning my guns.
I do it because it has to be done.
When I first got involved with firearms it was fun, it was something new.
Now it's a PIA.
Furthermore you should never eat or drink while cleaning your guns
(contaminants) even though you probably put your face in dirtier...
I always enjoyed boating.
I especially love navigation.
When I ran boats buoys were black, not green.
Loran C was it, not Sat Nav or GPS.
A different world today.
The United States Power Squadrons has weekly meeting.
Each week is a different topic about piloting, seamanship and small boat handling.
From the buoyage system to celestial navigation.
They frequently give tests and you can increase your level of knowledge.
The top level is N (Navigator).
If...
I agree, Welcome to Onsight Firearms Training, LLC is your best bet.
He runs rifle, shotgun and pistol classes at Blue Mountain
in Cortland Manor which is about 45 minutes from you.
In his classes safety is paramount and not only you will learn a lot you will have fun doing it.
Same reason I have car insurance, wear seat belts, have home owners
insurance, have fire extinguishers, smoke, co2, burglar alarms, etc.
You never know what could and will happen.
If you use the beavertail backstop you will get a better grip on the gun but when you
holster you can't put your thumb behind the slide which prevents it from going out of battery.
I have recently picked up my Glock Gen5 and have not yet been able to put it through it's paces.
For now I would say somewhat improved.
I would need more time before I could properly answer that question.
There are many improvements over the Glock Gen4.
The trigger is only one of them.
For those who have not seen this article it's very informative.
Here's the Full Reveal of the New Glock Gen5 Pistol | RECOIL
@Podmonkey, The Glock Store Survival Kit should have an extractor along with all the other springs.
The Glock night sights (Meprolight) are only good in certain lighting conditions.
At dusk you will only see silhouettes and they are not too well defined.
In daylight your better off with a...
With all that's going on in the country I'm beginning to believe that the judges are becoming afraid to sign off
on a permit or amendment in the event the licensee decides to do something stupid or has his gun lost or stolen.
It's about time, 6 weeks to the day.
Dropped off amendment at courthouse on 4/20.
Stopped by courthouse on 5/21 to check status.
Was told still on judges desk, 1 or 2 weeks more.
Amendment signed on 5/21, what a coincidence
Received in mail 6/1.
On the advice of my friend Ben at Onsight Firearm Training,
I purchased a Leather Wing holster from Black Point Tactical.
I was not disappointed !
It is one of the most comfortable holsters that I ever wore.
It contours to my body as well as my belt does and the
retention is one of the best I...
@Doc8404, Good idea, a shoot at Bullet Guy's place.
Since he owns a store he could supply the ammo and targets .........Gratis !
Ha, Ha, Ha !
See, I'm getting as Silly as you guys.
@Bullet Guy, I understand you have a store.
So you are on the computer as you wait for customers to come in.
I can't believe I didn't get any legitimate responses.
Most of the members respond to Silly Shit but when it comes to tactics I hear CRICKETS !
@cgruit, I agree.
The kids had fun, that's all that matters.
I had mine. When we would be on a boat I would hook a fish without them
knowing and then ask them to do me a favor and hold my rod for a minute.
My only worry was that they would unexpectedly have the rod ripped out of there hand.
If you go on a party boat you have to pick your day.
You can't go on a weekend when it's 90 degrees.
You also have to know where on the boat you want to fish.
If you are bottom fishing or you know they will anchor up you need to fish in the stern, preferably one of the corners.
If there going to...
@cgrutt, nice pic.
Water nice and flat.
Must of been on the way out.
Every thing is clean.
No fish or blood on the deck.
Catch any bluefish that day?
Is that a can flip top on a leader as a teaser ahead of that diamond jig.
@knuts, If you want to stay local with 4 people someone mentioned the Klondike out of New Rochelle.
They are friends of mine. Pete and Gary are good fisherman and boatman.

A few years ago we did a crew trip in the fall for tuna one night going to Block Canyon 90 miles...
I have a Surefire that I use with combat rings and a Streamlight that I use with a lanyard.
Both systems have their pros and cons.
I would like to know which system do you prefer and why.
Thanks in advance.
@knuts, are you and your friends looking to charter a boat or do you want to go on a party (open) boat?
Do you know when you want to go or what type of fish you would like to catch?
The NYS D.E.C. regulated saltwater fishing by imposing seasons and quotas on different species.
You and your...
