Government is probably only upset that whatever backroom dealings holding back this de-raring have fallen through.
No way anyone in government could possibly be surprisedat the de-rate otherwise given our out of control spending.
See now the ELCAN has all kinds of problems with it. The elevation and windage adjustments are external and intergal to the mount itself, the scope body itself is moved and not the reticle itself and the adjustments themselves are fairly easily moved unintentionally as well as the scope body...
That is an example of me stating an opinion without taking into account that you might have specific needs for a 1x prism scope and having astigmatism is a great reason why that type of optic exists.
I was very impressed with how that rifle did in class. It handled very well and it's ergonomics make it quick to operate. I did not find myself any slower to put accurate fire on target compared to the 5.56 guns and overall was just a pleasure to work with. It was not a pleasure at all for...
I never saw the point of 1x prism scopes. 1x magnification but you still have an eye relief and parallax. Red dots and holographics do the same thing without either issue.
I think for $1,000 the ACOG is still a solid buy, they have optical clarity on par with high end European scopes many...
Honestly I think the cheapest scopes can get while being worth a shit is a couple hundred bucks or so. Anything less than $100 is guaranteed to be total garbage.
That's why you don't buy from no name China brands. Luepold makes a fixed 4x scope for around $300:

I indeed used to have a TA11 mounted on that rifle at one point, only with the chevron reticle.
I liked it alot and I thought it suited the Galil well but this time I was thinking the crosshair would be better
It would seem that a I have gotten a heads up from a little birdie (thank you very much!) That Eurooptic is running a deal on the exact ACOG I seek, at the former price of $1,000 and change. Unfortunately I haven't the dosh right this moment but I will start scrupulously saving my scheckles in...
Well, yes. However remember that the PLX 1-8 is also a premium, $1,400 optic and being a .308 the Galil could put that extra magnification to good use.
On the other hand the Galil is a tank of a rifle, a real end-of-days firearm and the ACOG is an end-of-days tank of an optic as well.
If...
I am indeed considering the PLX 1-8, you'll notice it is one of the two options of my poll .
My issue with the PA micro prism is the muddy clarity and narrow field of view. The eye relief might be a little too close for use on the Galil which would have optic further forward than the rearmost...
@Vapor when I eventually (strong emphasis on "eventually") get Gally re-glassed I'll even post some groups *GASP*
In any event I'm inclined to agree with the both of you however that high price has me hesitant, for the money you can have any of a variety of very nice variables. I should...
Can't really do 45° offsets with the Galil. Ejection can be erratic, every so often it will spit a case back at a sharp angle to the rear, if it caught the offset dot it would likely be damaged. The cases eject with considerable vigor as is typical for AKs.
Neither scopes are at all cheap...
To be mounted on my beloved Galil Ace .308. I had an ACOG TA11 on it at one point but I had to sell it to raise some emergency cash. I really like the ACOG and I think it suited the Galil well, however the cost of ACOGs has risen above what the PA 1-8 goes for so I wonder if I shouldn't get...
This is precisely why these freaks CANNOT be allowed to participate in normal society. They either need to be locked up in asylums or euthanized outright.
If Trump is not elected president in 2024 and we do not turn the culture cold War into a hot Civil War we will all be forced to our knees to live 8n a communist authorian world. You all will be actually. I will not kneel, I will give them no choice but to kill me. I'd rather die than live in...
Why is it that you all still can't understand that what the left is doing in this country is very much akin to what the Nazis did in Germany?
Why can't anybody understand there is no peaceful solution to the leftist problem? The leftist problem must be buried in the grave.
Or we get sent to...
This is what an especially unintelligent person sounds like when they try very hard to sound intelligent.
Seriously, politics aside it is very plain that camel is a very dimwitted individual.
Sounds like the typical liberal type. "I support the 2A BUT....." type to me.
Views on Rittenhouse are a litmus test of what kind of person you are. It indicates whether you are informed, ill-informed or a commie terrorist.
The 5.7 is a very cool round but really of minimal practical use to civilians. To get the most utility of the 5.7x28 you need the AP variety and a full auto gun to shoot them with.
The only purpose of a 5.7 pistol is to be paired up with a carbine/PDW in 5.7.
For the price of the ammo I think...
I'd sooner shoot a democrat in the face than vote for one. You kill democrats, not vote for them.
@CaseHardened what the fuck are you thinking?! That filth is massively anti gun!
Third generation S&W pistols have been on my radar recently. Not sure why but I find them interesting. Those TSWs seem to be the Apex of the line and that one seems like a fine example.
Why don't we just kill these goddamn elitist fucks?! They goddamn bleed like everyone else.
Burn down their homes and shoot them in the back of the head when they flee. Kill em all!
I'm just saying the 70s were the last decade were traditional American values held sway. Our Nation exhibited outward signs of the lefist infection in the 60s but it took till the 80s for the rot to become preeminent. So in my mind being born in 1980 and onward is like being born of the rot...
My reaction to leftist bundles of sticks wandering unwelcome to my property would be sure to generate a swat response and my subsequent arrest and imprisonment for life.
There, that is how I do it now with all my cans to prevent confusion.
I added 50 rounds yesterday, I'll buy a box per week until it's filled. I like to keep these on hand for classes as it duplicates the feel of my +P carry ammo.
They also smack steel targets harder than 115gr range loads.
I haven't had any issues no. I only have 6 magazines total, three 10 rounders and three 13 rounders. All magazines and controls on the pistol itself were very stiff when new as seems is typical for Shields but loosened up after 200 rounds. I don't have as many rounds through the Plus as I did...
