Im gonna revive this old thread.
I would ask the co-worker too.
My wifes Shield in 380 is downright snappy compared to a 22LR.
And even in my GP100 3 inch, 38 SP isnt exactly a "light" recoil.
And neither are anywhere close to 22LR or even 22 WMR.
It cant be much worse than the people who put notes on your car or under your wiper. Just the other day we had a pamphlet left on our car from some "Freedom Life Church"...... or something. Although I liked their name, I dont care for their group. But just like the "clingers" you are talking...
What you are talking about is very dangerous to even mention.
Right now its just with pistol permits but eventually NYS will ABSOLUTELY find out what you say online. People being angry about a crooked election were called insurrectionists.
Our current president just said that law abiding, tax...
You guys keep saying this but nobody can explain the "OR otherwise has given express consent".
This is actually in the law plain and clear.
So, what does " or otherwise has given express consent" mean in the law?
Here is the law from NYS website.
This email was not directed too me, its just something I found online.
But, exactly what she said in the email is in their "terms of service" and policy online and hanging in their store.
These have been their rules, as well as Walmart for many years.
Walmart website specifically says they "ask...
But the law CLEARLY says a sign OR "otherwise given express consent".
Express consent can be given verbally or written.
Why do they have that line in the law?
OR " otherwise given express consent".
Even Houchul said in one of her briefs that there must be a sign OR express consent.
Again, just...
Its hanging near the restroom going into their break room. Im assuming its for employees, but anyone can read it. Its like 6 pages of tiny writing but its in there.
Again, this is just talking.....nothing has changed in the way I go through life on a daily basis. And this is also online...
The store near me has their policy hanging on the wall. It says you can CC if you have a state permit to carry. I have a picture of it somewhere.
The law does not say that I need my own personal express consent, it just says express consent, which is consent written out....which their store...
My recertification is due in Nov 2023.
I just tried to recert now but it wont let me.
It says I have already recertified.
I guess you cannot do it a year early.
Ive been hearing that a private company must have a sign saying it allows concealed carry. But, the law actually states a sign OR "otherwise has given express consent."
Express consent can be in writting.
MOST stores have online "rules" which clearly state that "no UNLAWFUL firearms, you must...
There are several cases working their way through that are gonna give California a headache. They may be the most gun "friendly" state when the lawyers get done with them. :)
I believe people here are a bit confused about the use of less lethals.
The justification for pepper spray(less lethal) is far less than the justification for deadly force.
For instance, a guy thinks you slighted him so he gets in your face and maybe a little belly bump. In that case you are...
Yes, and she knows that.
Do you remember when Cuomo was talking about the not being able to ban weapons in "common use" when they banned "assault weapons".
He smiled and said, " sue me".
NYS CAN and WILL make as many hurdles, limitations, and requirements as they can. These will all have to be...
One day last year I realized I couldnt find my cell phone.
I sort of looked around but it seemed to be gone.
The next day a friend of mine called the land line to tell me I had left my phone at their house........4 days ago. :)
We also STILL do not have a computer at our house.
I go days, even...
Open carry and concealed carry have been c!early defined and differentiated in several SCOTUS rulings. Even though NYS law does not directly make open carry illegal, they will arrest you and probably use the " historically understood " crap to convict you.
It was clearly mentioned that states will still be allowed to restrict carry in "sensitive areas" and they can require training and they can strengthen their background checks.
In his opinion Kavanaugh said states will still be allowed to make restrictions for "sensitive areas", and they can require training and they can strengthen their background checks.
Im counting on my cat like reflexes to avoid gun fire and the pockets of my Dickies carpenter pants to carry everything.
I may rethink this in the future, but right now im concentrating on my operator skills.
Seriously yesterday I carried ammo to the range in a plastic Walmart bag. :)
Luckily...
I dont believe anyone said they were junk, but there were a couple here who said they didnt like them for whatever reason. You can look back at my original post from last May. They were the usual "fans" of other brands.
I believe Canik should not be overlooked. They are gaining a huge following...
Yep,
Like I said in my original post, I have handguns from about a dozen top makers.....glock, Ruger, S&W, Dan Wesson, HK, CZ, Beretta........
I dont really have any strong feelings about Canik, I just like to buy guns. I most likely will not get another.....there are a lot of other brands on my...
As I said in my original post, Century Arms knows this happens. They say its due to the fact that the Canik is made for foreign military and police and its recoil spring is built for 147+P and 150 grain NATO ammunition.
I have spent some time on the Canik FB groups and this is a well known...
The trigger on this one is thinner than on my glock 20.
And the trigger really is amazing too me. I have glocks, S&W, Ruger, RIA, HK, Dan Wesson and a few more, the trigger on the Canik is better than them all.
By better I mean its smoother, shorter reset and no mush.
Ive been hoarding ammo for several decades.
I learned my lesson about 5 years ago and really stocked up.
I still have many thousand 9mm......mostly 115 grain Win white box. :)
On May 5, 2021 I bought a Canik TP9 SFX.
I was in the market for a Glock 17, which the shop had, but it was a gen 3 for $565, not what I was looking for.
I came here and asked opinions on Canik and got what I expected.....a few positive but mostly negative.I did some more research and bought the...
Saw an interview with a Ruger guy.
He said they are building these like the older Marlins (70s-80s) before they went downhill. Im interested but will wait for them to iron out any issues.
Although I have only used it in my 10/22 and Wrangler single action for plinking and chipmunks, it has been 100% reliable and accurate for me. Probably 5000 rounds or better.
I also recently heard that HP ammo is just overpriced "novelty" and PROVEN to be unnecessary. Proof is that the military has used FMJ in combat for 200 years.
And over penetration is not a thing if you dont miss.
Just last night I heard that practice with your self defense handgun is NOT necessary. Because in a self defense situation you will not need or remember training because the encounter will be 2 rounds from 3 feet....no aiming or practice necessary.
This was advice given to a 23 year old guy...
I do it 100% for fun and entertainment.
I do not make posts or encourage/discourage idiots.
It is concerning that FB is where 99% of anti gunners will look at gun culture.
The amount of tough guys talking about "self defense" while posting anti leftist and anti Biden memes is a recipe to...
A couple months ago while I was bored, I decided to check out some of the gun groups on FB. I have never had a FB page or ever posted a single thing. Im there strictly for the groups.
I have never seen so much misinformation, dangerous information or argumentative bunch of keyboard warriors.
Ive...
A couple years ago our house got hit with a couple rounds during regular season.
Like the boss I am I immediately went in pursuit. Unfortunately there was no snow and my tracking abilities were not up to the task.
I do believe the perps knew what they did because I was armed and out the door in...
