If you pledge to have a serious conversation about investigations, I will. I’m not playing childish games though, so just be honest now so we don’t waste each other’s time.
Well it’s NJ. Like it or not, odds would have been the gun being illegal. Reality is reality. Don’t play Darth’s games. Just say you disagree with the situation, that makes sense. Don’t pretend as if its not the case.
Just want to point out that it is not illegal for cops to point their guns at people during felony car stops. Period, end of story. I’ve done it many times. I even hit a few people with my gun before.
I do get that part, but you’re saying other things as well.
In regards to the search for contraband, it doesn’t once the person is searched, depending on circumstances. The car is clearly fair game. It’s not rocket science.
As I’ve said before, I couldn’t imagine what it feels like to live knowing such strongly held beliefs will never even remotely have a chanceof becoming reality.
Regardless of whether you agree with the gun possession being a crime, do you realize how stupid this sounds? If someone enters a car possessing an item, yet no longer possesses it after exiting the car, take a wild guess where that item may be.
You do realize that numerous court cases have...
I’d seriously love a conversation about this. IE, how to know there’s a crime occurring without an investigation, but I know from experience there’s zero chance of that happening here.
I know you’re posing this as some sort of negative statement, but who in their right mind would disagree with this? If you don’t value your own life more than those of people you don’t know (and even most who you do know), then you’re a fool. Being a cop or anything else doesn’t change this...
Movement in situations like this is far more dangerous than hunkering in place. Not even close. Unless an incident is directly effecting your location at the moment, movement is the worst choice.
Sandy hit and cut power to Manhattan for over 2 weeks. No rioting, no looting, nothing. We have the resources to handle most serious events. Parts of Staten Island and Brooklyn were completely destroyed.
If anything, after Sandy my views on these events really changed. For there to really be a...
Your 2nd Amendment rights aren't violated during a stop unless your gun is confiscated. As long as the stop itself is conducted legally, the 2nd Amendment is irrelevant to this type of situation.
My whole world is here, I’ve no interest in leaving. Most people do not have the capacity to kill. It would take a long time for most people to develop that. I’m not concerned with sheep acting like sheep. I’m not saying I’m the toughest dude around, but my chances are better here than on the run.
I sold it to a Chinese couple but it has changed hands since then. It’s the empty plot with a new rock driveway, about 300 yards down the road on the right when heading towards the state land parking at the intersection. There’s a for sale sign on it again.
I love the area. Used to own a small piece of land on Ferguson Road. I hunt the state land there often. The boundaries changed this year, one of the bordering homeowners requested a survey. I lost my spot I’ve hunted for 13 years. I stayed behind the houses where the deer traveled between yards...
You’re confusing district court cases which were not yet appealed to the court. There is a process. The aggrieved party must appeal a case to Scotus for them to decide whether to accept it or not.
If you want to “prove me wrong”, do so. I’ve no need to google. Your cries of “everyone is stupid”...
4 justices have to vote to accept a case. We only get “rumors” of who voted to accept cases which end up declined. Roberts, Alito, and Thomas are solid yes votes to accept gun cases. Gorsuch is now and likely Kavanaugh. Kennedy was the hold up. I cannot recall any major cases brought to their...
When the one justice who leaves is well known to have been the deciding vote on declining further gun cases, you bet your ass it makes a difference.
Have you seen any of Thomas’ recent dissents when turning down cases? That’s a rare thing: writing a dissent just because a case wasn’t taken up...
It’s well known amongst Scotus watchers why they’ve turned down gun cases in recent years. That roadblock is gone now.
Regardless, it’s simpleton talk to say that Scotus is meaningless to this or any other fight. Every year, the Court puts out important decisions which directly affect all of...
Does your arrogance run so deeply that you believe we’re all stupid enough to expect the ruling tomorrow?
You age and length of study are meaningless. You’ve already come to your conclusion: everyone except for you is stupid.
Ten days or 50 years, I’ll always prefer to keep learning.
It’s comfortable and easy (besides arrogant) to wave off everyone else as stupid. Meanwhile, the game continues whether you participate or not. So who’s the dumb one?
I can respect those who completely ignore politics, at least they practice what they preach. But here you are commenting on an...
We don’t need a Safe Act-specific case. We just need a similar one that ends with a decision covering aspects of any law natiowide like the Safe Act.
I imagine there are already cases like that making their wait through the courts. Naysayers who think the Scotus does nothing must be truly...
He beat me to it.
She’s a fraud. Paid to say things, so she says them. In practice, she was no better than a leftist democrat. She’d take our guns in a heartbeat. I hope she crashes head on with Jane Fonda going 120mph.
Exactly.
A lot of cops are getting silencers in NY now because of an actual loophole in our laws. Long story short, in my opinion it’s not gonna last and they’re all going to be turning them in soon. That’s why I’m not doing it.
In NY, that would be charged as a pistol under the assault weapons provisions. A pistol with a forward grip that weighs over 50 ounces, as Will stated earlier.
Good luck, but that’s the answer whenever some cop or prosecutor decides to charge it.
