Anyone saying that the individual can determine the constitutionality of a law is not even remotely correct for a split second.
The crux of the argument that comes up on this forum regularly is not questionable and never has been.
Only the courts can determine whether a law is constitutional...
Even if jury nullification wasn’t a fantasy (more on that in a few), the act of a jury finding someone not guilty does not change the law. Furthermore, if a jury stated “we find the defendant not guilty due to disagreeing with the law” then the judge would immediately declare a mistrial and...
Nice attempt.
Translation:
When a law is determined to have been unconstitutional by the courts, then it is null and void back to its inception meaning any ramifications from the time it was passed until the time of the court’s decision are void.
You didn’t just post some magical exemption...
Marbury v Madison established the arbiter of “Constitutional” vs “Unconstitutional” in this country.
The president at the time was none other than the man who stated that the “tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
John Adams and many other...
How much is it? Mine on SI is $300 annually. Not that I’d change, just wondering how much.
Edit: I just looked it up. $225 plus $3 every time you go? I mean I guess you get 25 visits before hitting my $300 but ours does not involve a per-visit fee and we can bring unlimited guests as well.
Brooklyn has a few solid bad cop cases going on right now if you want some legit “meat”. Anything from the Bronx is made up. Queens even has a 70’s-style bribery racket in the news that is movie worthy. Those are legit.
This is just an elected race-panderer pandering to his race.
The Bronx DA’s office is as anti-cop as it comes. Total radical leftists. Why cops choose to work in the Bronx is beyond me. I’ll be at my friend’s trial starting Tuesday for shooting a woman who first approached him with a knife and then swung a bat at his head - a fact no one disputes. Fuck...
It doesn’t do anything extra for NY. You’d still need to fix the mag. If you don’t, you’d have to put one of those funky grips or stocks on, totally changing it.
And off the top of my head, I’m pretty sure NY defines barrel and overall length and such. If that definition is worded differently...
This is a lot of nonsense to go through for nothing more than a shorter barrel with a "real" stock.
Considering the tacit approval of "braces" that are effectively stocks themselves, there are no pros to this thing but plenty of cons.
What a gimmick.
I didn’t say anything about what happens after. I am referring to enforcing laws on the books against legitimatey bad people (which do exist by golly gee).
You can take that to the extreme if you want, add in nuclear bombs, just go for it! But reality is I’m speaking about putting charges...
And again, there’s no such thing as jury nullification. If a judge finds out jurors are intentionally disregarding the applicable laws as written, he’ll declare a mistrial and schedule a retrial with a new jury charged to follow the law.
Every time a perp gets popped for a gun law, even while committing another crime, you are willing to definitively state that the cop is an “oathbreaker” without knowing anything beyond what the media tells you or from a short press release.
So yes sir, you are a cop hater.
There are truly “accidental” perps. This guy isn’t one of those. I’m very willing to stake my “hunch” experience on this one. It’s very likely he isn’t really residing in Colorado either. There’s a Tacoma with a Colorado license plate that parks down the block from me. I see it driving around...
Actually I have, but all perps comitting crimes. I 100% have overlooked more gun laws than anyone on this forum. In the last two months I was party two 3 pretty serious transgressions which all got worked out.
Difference is, they weren’t perps. This guy is. People who support perps are...
As relevent, it not more.
What did we see last time? Pants laws? Gotta up your game after that one. Shoot for the stars. We’re protecting perps here, can’t go soft! Bring the A game.
Come on man, strengthen the analogy game. That’s too easy. If he was a cat on Mars that just lost his job and had a flat left-coronal ejection engine pump, you wouldn’t feel that way!!
My “stick family” sticker is 5 guns. I also have a middle finger NFL magnet, airborne wings, blue lives matter wings, and a bowhunter sticker styled after the MLB logo. IDGAF what anyone thinks...
...but, I also know the laws and how to control my temper and would have driven to a safe...
You don’t want to be the next nationwide example of killing an “innocent” black man, cop or not. This guy would have an uphill battle anywhere, bit definitely in MN and definitely with witnesses that either don’t back his story or didn’t see what he says happened.
Most of the time, “went to retrieve a handgun” is not going to go in your favor. Absent extreme circumstances, this is fail 101. Worst of all, such facts might even be used to show premeditation which will increase the charge.
Might as well yell out, “You insulted my manhood, watch this!”...
Only an idiot or intentional deflector would chalk this up to the bumper sticker.
They make this awesome thing for avoiding collision disputes: car door locks. Call 911 and sit in the locked car. Problem solved.
Hot head couldn’t handle being a concealed carrier. He’ll learn how now.
