The custom Glock 34 is up and running. We swapped mag released and sighted in the RMR. It did have a few malfunctions and the trigger didnt reset once. Lucky, I had a glock minus connector in my bag and it ran like a top!!!!
The light weight slide make one hell of a difference.... Went...
Little update on the G34 its all together except the mag release. Since he has a red trigger blade we are going to trade my red release for his black one. Might be shooting it tomorrow night:cowboy2:
Awhile back I made a comment about frame stippling being mostly for looks and now I am considering a stipple job on my G34. A friend has been doing some stippling work and I am starting to change my tune. I dont think I would want to do a carry pistol, but for a range pistol I might like it...
No it was comfortable and with the main string changed it was nice.
The slide release is nice because on the non-legion models many will hit it while shooting and lock the slide back.
Glad you got it back and running!!! After running some rounds through it I bet the tuned spring will be fine, even tho I dont understand why a tuned spring is needed anyway.
You might want contact the company who did the work to see if they will do anything for you since they screwed up...
Many believe a smaller dot is better for accuracy and I did not feel that was the case. If I were shoot at very small targets maybe it would be different. My gut tells me I would be faster with the 6 MOA but I did not test for that. The guy with the other pistol has competed with both sizes...
Great discussion here guys!!!
below are the pics of the 10 and 25 yard targets, my shooting of the 15 yard target with the 6 moa was so bad it makes it an invalid comparison.
10 yard target. I screwed up by not shooting a warm-up mag and started with the 3 MOA dot on my pistol. My first...
Most who dont like the dot are those with little or no experience with them. I know that the first time I used a dot in the weekly competition my scores increased dramatically, 3 other guys I know experienced the same results.
Finding the dot is no different than finding sights it is a...
I have a few and think they all suck. For a new loader the Lee manual gives the best introduction to loading. The biggest problem is that the load data between manuals is different.
After seeing a thread about the Holston dot and a Youtube reviewer made the statement that a 2 MOA dot was best so I decided to try a back to back test to better form an opinion. I do have a 3 MOA dot on my G34 and a friend has a G34 with a 6 MOA dot both pistols are modified very similarly...
That revolver is an N frame I believe so it is a big gun. You could also shoot 38 special in it too. It seems like a good price and you may not come across one again. So my pick would be a revolver. If you dont have a carry permit why get a carry gun, they dont tend to be the fun ones to...
I have a 3 and think my next one will be a 6. Grass is always greener. lol
I think a buddy has a G34 with a 6MOA that is similar to mine with a 3 MOA. Maybe I will shoot them back to back at 10,15 and 25 yards it see.
To the OP the Legion would be a great choice if you want a refined pistol. I believe it is the one finest build pistol that I have handled. It does is on par with a high quality 1911 imo.
I personally dont shoot them well but would bet if I spent some time with one that would change. Of...
I forgot to mention something in the initial report like in the 43x report. Shame on me...
The grip texture is very sharp!! some will love it others may not. I do have softer hands based on my work in full discloser. I could see the grip rubbing bad against bare skin if you dont ware an...
Oh I forgot to mention a negative about this pistol. One of the big advantages to a full grip is easier reloads. With the 43X it is easy ti get the mag into the mag well but I did pinch the shit out of my hand while seating the mag. I have never had this happen with a G19, and know it is more...
Shame on them if they dont understand what Perfection is... lol
The main reason why I would not buy one is I would bet the resale value would suck. So one would be better off customizing a factory frame or buying an aftermarket one.
The only way to get the RMR cut is with a stupid gold barrel...
It was mostly for range work. I liked the pistol and would have liked to keep it, but I wanted a pistol with a longer sight radius for competition and target. It was traded for a G34 MOS, if it was a full sized 75 I would have kept it.
I had a PCR that I did all a Cajun work to. I did it in 2 steps. Good people to deal with and the parts perform as advertised. I thought the trigger as very good but not perfect. That said if it were the full sized 75 I would likely still own it.
I would be willing to bet you were not limp wristing it , if it happened once maybe but you have enough experience to rule that out. If the screws are the problem it would have been a bad mill job and you likely would have noticed the screw interfering with something when installing the dot.
If the deep cleaning did not clear mine up the next move was to remove the dot. But I dont feel the dot weight should make a difference since steel is milled out of the slide and the dot is made of aluminium so there should not be too much weight difference. Yes, worth considering but should...
I am fortunate to have convenient access to a range so its easy to tinker with a problem. If range time is limited it might be well worth while to pay to get it up and going so you can enjoy it.
Its hard for me to want to get away from a G26 because of all the gear I have for it. If I was a new buyer I would for sure consider some of the newer options.
It will be interesting to hear what they will charge you. The only gunsmiths I know around me charge a good bit for anything, I would be afraid to take them an unknown. It would be awesome if you end up with a reasonable local gunsmith.
