My son recently took his hunter safety course at the HF&GC and at the end, they talked to us about membership to the club and how reasonably priced it is ($40-$45/yr family rate). I'm curious if anyone has ever been a member there, and if it's worth doing, or any other experiences with the club.

Good point. He's in the neighborhood of 85-90 lbs, so he's not a terribly big kid. He hasn't grown into himself yet. .243 was something I was thinking of as well.

It's such a fine line, I think. Too small and it's a waste. Too big and they develop a flinch, or just can't hold the gun in general.

Sadly, I won't be able to get him a 10/22, or any other semi-automatic rifle. FUKH for that one. It'll have to be straight up bolt/pump action for him at this point.

Our school district has already determined they'd have to, at minimum, double their bus fleet to be able to handle bussing in a single day. They'd essentially need a fleet for the morning and a fleet for the afternoon runs.

I saw a comment on Reddit where a FFL bought a box of .22 before he opened the shop for the day to see how the process would go. He wound up delayed 4 hours, and ultimately was denied. An FFL was denied to buy a box of .22. Let that sink in. Edit: He wasn't denied.
