I can't find anything specifically prohibiting it in NY. I think for it to be deemed illegal, there has to be a reasonable expectation of privacy. Outdoors that is not usually the case.
I'm no lawyer, but that's all I can find online right now.
Ah, 19. Ok. Still young as hell and creepy as fuck. The fact that he was her boss makes it even worse, so I guess you could put it under #metoo, but definitely file it under how to not act as a superior.
He's asking a barely of-age or underage girl (I don't know how old she was at the time) to show him her precious and rub baby oil on herself while she's already pretty scantily clad. Definitely not dressed for the range, that's for sure.
I know that's not a popular take/view "bro, what's the...
Scope will be here Monday. I'm buying that low profile riser, but in 2 pieces. The 1 piece is 5.5" long, and I don't have that length on my upper without going onto the barrel/handguard. They have the same riser, but in 1.57" lengths instead, so that'll work.
Anyone get/use those scope levels...
Man, that's a cool setup! Definitely a little jealous, haha. Looks like what some of the guys were using when NF and I went hunting in Colorado.
I think ~25 is about the coldest I've tent camped in. In a 3-season tent, that's chilly. Lucky I warm easy
There's probably some low end stuff listed in the beginning here, but my advice would be to buy a camera and nvr (network video recorder) so you can view your cameras. You don't have to record, but the NVR gives you a place to manage it (tv, pc monitor) and you can set it up to record later. I...
Because overall, it's not a comfortable position. It's still a bit too low w/out the muffs on, I have to push down to get it without them on. When I first sight the gun, my cheek weld is comfortable and slightly higher than this. A half-inch riser should solve this
Roy, the last risers I had were UTG too, they did the same thing, I liked the simple look.
So I mocked this up and then sent the scope back for the 5.56 that I really wanted all along. At least when the scope comes back available, I'll be ready to mount it
This is done. Exchanged back w/ the seller and will wait for PA to have the 5.56 back in stock again. They said not til May, lol. I can wait, I've waited this long I guess! I'll shoot irons until then, or work on my pistol, lol.
Got the mount in the mail today to test the setup, and it looks good. Lower is definitely better, but this is a hair too low. Without cans, I can crunch down on it, but I can't with them on. I think it feels about a half inch shy and a small riser would probably fix this. Currently, this is 1.5"...
Ah, ok. I've got no problem with that. They just told me to read the wiki on the page, and it didn't answer me any questions because they didn't tell me what to look for. Though I haven't seen people with Ring cameras post that people are being recorded?
Also, I started trying to look up Dahua...
I traded for this scope mistakenly because I thought it was the 5.56 variant (not in what it shoots, it's how PA names their reticles I guess. This Is for .223/5.56 and other rounds, see box)...
I was told not to worry about it w/ my old scope/mount setup, but that's why I am looking into a cantilever setup for this scope, so I can get it on the upper rail only.
I just sighted up my 308 and it's much lower than my AR, yet I can sight it just fine w/ my Razor's on. Yet when I sight my AR, the higher sight feels fine, I have no idea why. I also don't like how it looks that high, so possible that I can sight it lower and be ok.
We'll find out tomorrow...
Clearance while wearing Razor cans, how I shoot (I guess). I just don't crunch down on the gun that much. This setup might be a tit bit high, but it'll probably be close to this
Working on the mounting...not finished.
I thought the reticle was the 5.56 version with the ranging bits on it. Turns out, that's another $100. This one still illuminates and although the ranging would have been nice, this one will work for now. Maybe I'll upgrade later, who knows.
Yup, this. Narrowed my search down to the Glock 19 or the 48 and went to the range and rented both, made it easy to decide. They have a list of available firearms on their site.
That's kind of how this AR is setup, Robin. It's a fun shooting gun that I could hunt with if I wanted to
My thoughts on the cantilever setup was the benefit of the base mounts being close together but spacing out the rings, so this would be beneficial if you wanted to mount your scope without...
None taken, I also know it's the position that fits best when I am wearing the Razor cans. I don't crunch my head down on the gun. The side of my jawbone is on the top/side of the stock, I have it extended to the point that is comfortable for my arms and I've never changed it from there.
I'd...
Bench is a mess. I actually set it on top of the other rings even though they're not the same size. Made it easier to hold. Looks goofy af, but it "fits" when I hold it, whether I'm prone or standing
Yeah, a bit. It's a basic Bushnell offering.
Sat (laid) down and dragged over the sandbag a bit since that's what I would use to support myself, sighted up. Seems the two scopes sit basically the same. Laid down, closed my eyes, drew down on the wall ahead, sighed and looked ahead into the...
Well, in looking at their offerings, it looks like I want to avoid the SPR mount, but the regular and extended mounts are both 4.75in in length, and weigh in at a nice 3.27oz.
@NYGuns I posted in IPCamTalk about upgrading cams cuz I think it's time, but I got a half-useful response about sensor size and what possible cams to look for.
I'm considering audio, is there some concern about recording audio that I need to heed?
The Reolink camera I was looking at had the...
Short height or short length? I'm guessing short length means weighs less (I'm looking at the extended now, but haven't mocked anything up)
Would it be safe to start with mounting in the same location my 3-9 is now, and go from there? At least from a mocking standpoint?
It turns out that the Aero Precision is 1.5" in height, so I think I am gonna shoot for that, assuming I get this scope. Looking at the FDE color to go w/ my hanguard that already is
I was recommended those at first and I think they're great, but probably not for me. I'll probably buy something for 1/2 the price.
The less I have to wait to get it, the sooner I can go shooting
I haven't camped since NF and I went to CO in 16. Been meaning to every year since, and our schedules can't line up.
Wanna go this year, had a friend reach out and say he wanted to rough it for the weekend - no gear, just handmade shelters, lean-to, tarps, etc. I told him I did that once - in...
Well, these are Razor cans, I thought they counted for slim? I dunno
I've got a 3-9x now, came w/ my 308, which now has a Nikon 4-12x40, which I use if I wanna reach out. Stepping this down to a 1-6 variant
How do these raised mounts work/measure? Are they measured from the bottom of where the scope sits? With the risers, my current scope sits about 1.5" (at the base). If that's the case, I'll buy something like those then.
I'm looking in to getting a new scope for the AR, so I'm doing a little mount research now. What's considered "quality", what's not? Is cheap ok? I'm seeing some in these lists that are cheap but recommended, and then I'm seeing some cost just as much as the scope...
Make all of the arguments you want, but just like gun laws, criminals don't follow decency rules either.
I hear this crap all the time from my neighbors who leave their cars and houses unlocked and are upset when they get nailed by some lowlife tugging at handles to see if someone slipped.
I'm...
Bump, fielded some questions on this - I will make trades for gear or scopes. I'm not shooting or carrying this now, so if someone had something to offer like 1-4x or 1-6x type scopes for my AR like a Primary Arms/Nikon/Vortex/etc. I'd be interested in that.
Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x24 -...
