There's a good deal on a P-Tactical .223 1.5-4.5x20 with a bdc reticle and instant zero turrets (basically like my 308 scope) OR there's a Primary 1-4x24 scope with a v-plex reticle w/ an illuminated dot in the middle.
Both priced the same, would go on my AR. I feel like I'm partial to the...
I don't wanna say I feel like the red dot is cheating, but it feels a lot easier to shoot. I wanna have that feeling when shooting w/ open sights, I feel like I can do it, just need to be setup right
Ain't no quit here, I just wanna figure it out.
I'm just wondering why it was better w/ a better sight, and that goes for all of the Glocks I have shot at this point. The ones w/ upgraded sights I have shot better, even under an instructor's close eye.
I'm all ready to say I suck, because I...
I'm thinking it may be more the factory sights than anything. If I upgrade to something my brain likes better, that might work better. A red dot is a bit more than I wanna do right now. I'm thinking just a sight like what I listed may be better. I don't think I have an issue w/ the grip for now...
We actually moved it and it didn't help. Maybe I didn't move it enough, but it didn't seem to have the intended result.
This was also w/ 2 different kinds of 9mm ammo too
So far, I really like it. I had to modify my Bravo Concealment holster for my Shield to get extra cant out of it. They incorporate that into this one, makes it really easy to adjust. It's very comfortable. I'm just wondering how it'll be if I put a red dot on it.
Glock 48 in a DeSantis Pegasus Slim-Tuk holster I got for SS this year, I love it.
Kershaw knife I got from a previous SS as well
When I go to the movies, I add an AA flashlight
Barnes Tactical 115g hollow points
In the winter when I'm wearing a longer jacket, I carry the RIA 1911 in a...
Question is, how easy is it to carry? As it stands, the tuck holster from DeSantis keeps almost all of the back end of the slide at or below my belt, which is right where the red dot would be.
Part of it is gout, that's where it affects me. That's on me, but even when I'm doing everything right, it can still hurt. I may have to talk to the doc about going on the daily meds for it. Drinking water all day doesn't seem to be doing it, and avoiding red meat is insane.
As you all know, I recently moved to the Glock fam w/ the 48, an upgrade over my Shield. I also moved from 40 to 9. I can't remember if I posted my first time shooting the gun here, but the results were...less than ideal (for me, I'm a perfectionist). I hit every shot left of the target. I know...
AFAIK, there's no card to get for your recert, it's just updated that you did it. I'm guessing so that it shows in police db's if they run your license. If it's not recert, I'm sure they'll let you know, lol
It was released? I am pretty sure when I got mine then that I chose to have it non-disclosed.
So is there no real answer for this, do I just let it go?
Did I miss what this was about?
Oh, never quit, one bad year or a few bad years won't turn me off. Just hanging w/ NF is enough to keep doing it. Love the time out, love being out there. I also will not kill a deer for the sake of filling the tag. I'll either take a big enough doe or I'll wait...
How did this all play out? I thought I read somewhere that NYC changed the law or got rid of it at the last minute, and SC argued that there was nothing for us/NY 2A owners to fight about anymore?
Got into an interesting and predictable discussion w/ someone on Twitter yesterday, came down to us both being about guns, but he's not for AR's. I ask him why, he says you don't need that kind of "power" to hunt deer with. I tell him I live in NY (I assumed he lived in MN because we're Vikings...
Yeah, same here. NF thought they were moving differently than normal, and I have heard from a few people that people are going out a lot and coming home empty-handed.
Came in one cold morning and breakfast was being made. "Ooh, breakfast! I could use that!" I say, only to hear, "Those who bring...
Third season hunting, pulled an 0-fer, didn't see shit all season except that fork on opening day. Went out again a few more times, Friday was my last. Went down in the afternoon and tried a stand @NirvanaFan has on his parent's property. Old little fort, but gave me a nice north/south view...
Bear w/ me as I try to explain this.
If I am typing a word, and I go to delete the word, as soon as I delete the first letter of the word, the space that separates it and the previous word also gets deleted as well.
Seems like a new thing, anyone else notice it?
This is fucking sad.
First off, shooting yourself or someone else over minor arguments/disagreements/disputes - what the fuck? How senseless and stupid.
Second, how awful for this woman. She was already a widow and now has to bury her poor children and piece of shit boyfriend. Wow, that's...
I've been away for a little bit, so I come on and I see this thread has 15 pages...I'm not reading that.
I somehow got put in a moderator position on a FB NY 2A page and watched this unfold as it happened, it was insane. This dude live streaming/tweeting/sharing as things are going down, the...
That's not an issue that I'm ever going to run across, lol
Amazon is showing some of the prices cut too.
That being said, I am looking for a "cheap" AR scope. I don't want a 3-9x like I have now, and right now, all I am seeing from Nikon is a 1-4x20 and a 2-7 that looks like it's for 300blk...
I used a shell type bore sight for my 308, just sits in the chamber. Was pretty damn good. Got me close enough to zero so I could fine tune and get 2 deer :idk: Cheap enough and I got it on Amazon

That blows, I really like their stuff. For the price, it has really good value. I know some don't buy scopes this "cheap" but they're not bad. Sure, they're not Leupold, but I'd put them over Bushnell. Primary has...
The last two years, I've been using my Salomon hiking boots for hunting, no insulation, feet would get cold on a day like Saturday morning.
Got my first pair of Irish Setters when I needed some steel toes for chainsawing. Expensive, but worth it. I got a killer sale, only paid like $100 for a...
Unintentional, but reckless. Someone could have gotten hurt if they woke up and got in the path of that round.
I'd also say it fits too. Don't be stupid w/ guns
I was going to buy the 19 after handling it, it felt really good in my hands. Then I shot one at class one week, really liked it. Then I did more research and saw the 48. Saw The Firing Pin had one to rent. Shot it, shot the 19, shot the 48 the rest of the day. Loved it. Definitely gotta handle...
I like it too, but it's just too small for my hands, hard for me to "get a grip" so to speak. If you're gonna buy one, I'm selling one if you're interested. Other than that, it's a fine gun. It conceals great. I'm sure the 48 will conceal fine too, but the Shield really hid well.
Got myself that Glock 48 (in 9mm) I was yammering on about. Was able to shoot one a few weeks ago and really liked it. Fits in my hand great, should really help me with my shooting fundamentals I hope.
Pictured with my Shield for comparison. Still considered a compact.
I think if we wanna get people out there, make it for fun first. Let everyone come together, let everyone meet and get shooting together. Once you do that and we can gauge what kind of interest/participation you're gonna get, then you can decide if you wanna push it further.
I drive almost an hour now just to go hunting. I'd be willing to stretch that out a bit just to go shooting w/ forum members - whether it's pistols and knockdown targets, long range plinking, more of a challenge/bet for the more accomplished shooters, something. I've never shot my bolt over 100y...

There's this too - it was recommended to me by a friend. Gotta display proficiency at 400y first before they let you move to 700. For me, 400 would be enough. Looks like fun, I'd like to go check it out sometime.
Looks like he's just trying to piss people off and picked the easiest thing to say that he was just exercising his 1A rights.
I mean, it is his right to, but why would you?
It reminds me of my neighborhood association (no, no the kind w/ the crazy rules and dues). Neighbors came together to form a group to keep informed about crime in the area (primarily) and to be better connected as neighbors. Started in 2016, and once we got started and organized, everyone kept...
