Corgi, Personally, I like Smiths....pre-lock. That said, the GP is a great platform, good solid gun! As far as the carbine goes, I've got a 556 in that platform. Both my Glocks are .40, so when I looked at a somewhat different platform in a, ahem, compact carbine..... I've stayed with the .40...
