Manufacturers of wheel guns need to update their offerings. When semi auto pistols it is easy to get one with fiber optic sights, night sights or basic white 3 dot sights. With revolvers the vast majority are either black on black or just a gutter sight with black front. How about making a...
Swapped out the walnut stocks for a set of Herretts cocobolo stocks. Also decided to replace the trigger with one from a TRP. The black trigger on a black tennifer 1911 just has a svelte yet menacing look to it.
It’s hard for a consumer to buy products when it’s extremely hard to find. Took me a year of searching to find my Wiley Clapp GP100 and I had to go used after 6 months of searching in order to find a Blackhawk.
It would also be nice for manufacturers to realize that a sizeable number of...
You can have threaded barrels. You can not have a semi automatic pistol or semi automatic rifle with detachable magazine with a threaded barrel. Revolvers, fixed magazine semi automatic rifles and handguns, shotguns, manually operated guns all can have threaded barrels.
With the helion it would have to be fixed magazine, where this is featureless and thus keeps detachable magazine. It breaks down super easy which I like. What’s nice is that when the laws change you can swap out the lower for a pistol grip lower.
Optics ready? Nope.
Night sights or fiber optic sights? Nope.
Large magwell for speed reloads? Nope.
Extended magazine with 60 rounds? Nope.
Ported or comped barrel? Nope.
Polymer lightweight frame? Nope.
Peak fudd with extra yeehaw? Hell yeah!
Scored a great deal on this used but never fired...
It’s decent. Definitely better than the old vortex scout scopes. I still think the best scout scopes were the old long eye relief scopes that Leupold used to make. However since those were discontinued this is the next best thing. The eye box window is a little narrow but nothing that isn’t...
Picked up a near mint condition 92F today. Looks to have less than 50 rounds Fired thru it. Got a heck of a deal on it. Came with both originals mags, original case and box. Definitely Riggs approved.
That’s what I mean. How many PA dealers know about handgun coupons or how they work? Not to mention I doubt it would make sense to go thru all that for buying a handgun from a dealer 6 or 7 states away. Heck for most people in NY it’s a pain to buy a handgun that’s at a dealer in a different NY...
Even if today anybody from any state could buy a handgun from somebody in a different state we in NY still have to have it added to our CCW permit before we can take possession of it. So even if everything changed we are still basically handicapped because of that.
I have a “5 in 9mm that is running a 14lb recoil spring that shoots 115grain range ammo just fine. It also could be extractor tension being too tight which can cause a malfunction, but then I would expect to see an occasional failure to fully go into battery for when a live round is stripped...
40s&w guns are great because they are only a barrel swap away from being a 357 sig gun, or just a barrel, recoil spring assembly and magazine swap away from being a 9mm gun. At the next gun show I’m hoping to find a nice condition G23 or G22 that can be swapped into 357 sig.
any chance you could start a new thread for this? I’d love to see a picture of the exact malfunction and what it looks like. Based upon all the 1911’s I’ve worked on I’d say either something with the extractor, recoil spring is too light and wrong kind of spring, or maybe the magazine.
I have the hunter stock on my Gen 2 American predator. For this one I actually really like the factory glenfield stock. This is going to be one of my main hunting rifles so I like the all weather nature of the stock. Eventually I want to get the reciever and barrel cerakoted for better all...
Added a threaded bolt handle and enlarged bolt handle knob to my Glenfield Model A. Also swapped out the stock firing pin for a hardened stainless one.

I am shipping a handgun in for custom work. The company sent me an RMA label for FedEx, thus I have to ship with FedEx unless I want to pay the shipping myself. Normally I just use UPS as their distribution center is conveniently located. If you could just easily call someone at FedEx and they...
I’m curious how they got permission to sell guns that used to be full auto. I’m pretty sure the atf has always taken the stance “once a full auto reciever always a full auto reciever”.
Sighted in the Glenfield Model A today.
Here is 4 shots at 50 yards
Here is 4 shots at 100 yards. The last shot I jerked the trigger and sent a flier to the left.
Ammo used was factory Sig marksman hunter 130grain 6.5 creedmoor. Gun is stock other than the paracord sling and vortex...
They can not. Per FedEx policy a firearm must be shipped from one of their distribution centers.
Spent most of today on the phone trying to get the address of a FedEx distribution center. Tried calling every phone number they gave but the AI would not put a person on the phone without a...
Yeah that thread was not helpful. I have an RMA label and have to ship it to the manufacturer via FedEx. I tried googling where the FedEx distribution hub is in WNY but google kept giving me local FedEx stores. I don’t want to go thru an FFL as the last I sent a firearm back to a manufacturer...
Thank heavens there was a civilian armed with a suppressed FN 5.7 handgun with 20 round mags who was able to engage the active shooter and help to save countless lives. Sure looks like standard capacity mags and suppressors are in common use.
Picked up a new deer rifle. Got a Glenfield Model A in 6.5 creedmoor. Added a 1-4x vortex I had laying around. Should be as accurate as my other Ruger American rifles I’ve had (1-1.5MOA) which is adequate enough for getting a deer at 100-150yards. Plus I won’t feel bad about carrying a $400ish...
Added an EPS Carry to the shield X.
The shield X is becoming one of my favorite carry guns for how well it both carries and shoots. It is a soft shooter.
The law has already been killed in NYS thanks to Christian vs James which had a final ruling by the 2nd circuit back in may. This now makes it for the rest of the country.
picked up a smith and Wesson shield X today. Feels just like a bigger version of the bodyguard 2.0. Put 200 rounds thru it at the range. Very soft shooting. Felt softer than the hellcat pro comp. Recoil felt like shooting a G19. Very impressed with it.
And yet historically they have had the least restrictions on guns and conceal carry. Even today they are far less restrictive for the most part compared to other heavily Democrat states. Makes no sense.
Did some work to my Springfield armory garrison commander today. Added thin rosewood grips, ambi safety, black speed trigger and then lightly stoned the sear and adjusted the sear spring.
why on earth does a city need 4 deputy mayors who make $148k each per year in addition to a mayor? Instead of raising budgets why not cut 3 or all 4 of the deputy mayors? That would save between $400-$500k per year. I’m so tired of hearing politicians talk about needing to raid taxes without...
