BCA has such bad QC that it is scary. Downright unsafe stuff that gets past and onto the market.
if you want a true bolt action AR15 or AR10 you can buy either an upper or complete rifle from this com

or you can do what I did and buy a side charging...
The new fuddcannon I ordered came in today so I went on lunch and picked it up.
The QPQ tennifer finish is gorgeous and I absolutely love the brass bead front sight. Also pleasantly surprised to see they are doing a completely polished disconnector now.
Not for nothing but I happen to really like Aguila 22LR. Less expensive than CCI but seems to work just as well thru my semi auto, bolt action and lever action 22’s. Accuracy has been decent as well.
SDS imports (Tisas) has brought back the much requested Stakeout 45 model
MSRP is mid 500’s. To find an all forged 1911 built to proper spec with brass bead front sight and QPQ tennifer finish for sub $1k is unheard of.
-forged frame, slide, barrel and all internals. No MIM or cast parts...
Conceal carrying this today in a galco IWB leather holster.
Got a new achievement: - unlocked “Peak Boomer 45AARP” - conceal carry an all steel full size 1911 in 45acp with leather holster.
decided to go with the stock trigger shoe as it goes with the new safety.
Got plenty aggravated at the post office. Ordered some spare shear pins for the snow blower and then filled with only option for shipping was USPS. How the hell is Oregon on the way from Kentucky to nys. Maybe more people would willingly use USPS if stupid shit like this didn’t happen all the time.
Absolutely stuff is going to break. We all have a diffferent comfort level of expectations for what stuff should be expected to last before failure. My point is more don’t just buy something and assume it’s going to work without some sort of use testing. For me it is 1k rounds, for others it...
Test your gear.
today I decided to do another quick range trip with the M&P 2.0 in 10mm. Shot 200 rounds of sig sauer 10mm and on round 200 the TLR-7X decided to say “peace I’m out!” And went flying. Found all the parts and determined the mounting screw sheared off the side clamp. Gonna reach...
it replaces the factory trigger shoe and trigger bow. It does take some fitting so depending on how you fit then yes you can eliminate it. I may end up changing it again as I’m not sure if I like the medium length as much as I thought I would. I may end up switching it out for a long length
hand polished the flats of the slide and the trigger. Hand fit new solid medium length trigger, commander ring hammer, 20lpi checkered mainspring, hand polished sear and disconnector, then adjusted the sear spring for consistent clean sub 2.5lb break. Resprung with correct springs. Decided to...
I’d like to get another 100 rounds through it trouble free at the next range trip. Then I would feel comfortable endorsing it. But initial impressions are very good.
1st range trip is in. The 4.6” polymer framed M&P 2.0 in 10mm is quite a shooter. Shot 50 rounds Of blazer, 50 rounds Of Aguila and 50 rounds Of sig sauer (which is the hottest factory stuff I have) for a total of 150 rounds. Overall very positive experience.
positives:
soft shooting for a...
With 1911’s you can do that as they have locking lugs and recoil spring plus hammer spring. With a gun like an M&P or a Glock they only have a recoil springs and no locking lugs and no hammer springs. Thus if you mess with the recoil spring you run the risk of the slide opening before it should...
When the gun launched 3 years ago there was some 4.6” and quite a few 4” models that had problems. Swapping out recoil springs and mag springs seemed to help but not always. In the last 1.5 years the complaints seemed to have dried up which makes me think S&W got the issues sorted. I decided to...
Also did more work to my Tisas Nightstalker in 9mm.
added fiber optic front sight, stainless barrel, stainless barrel bushing, VZ Alien G10 grips, Wilson combat full length guide rod and plug,Wilson combat recoil spring and main spring, Wilson combat safety plunger spring, Wilson combat bullet...
Been working on my Tisas Raider (M45A1 clone) in 45acp.
added high visibility front sight with tactical rack rear sight, Wilson combat full length guide rod and plug,Wilson combat recoil spring and main spring, Wilson combat safety plunger spring, Wilson combat bullet proof seat, Wilson combat...
So I have spent some time now with the ruger ready dot sight. Currently have a total of 2500 rounds while using it on my I first ran it on my Sig P365 Xmacro, then my Ruger RXM and finally on my shadow systems CR920X. I have experienced no breakages or failures of the optic, nor has the zero...
Have tinted front windows and completely tinted front windshield is illegal in nys and makes a vehicle fail nys inspection unless it has a dmv issued tint exemption sticker. I’m sure that just like with illegal window tint nobody would ever find a way around this law with their vehicles.
Or the Tisas/MAC DS9 or $1400 and get a prodigy. The Turkish 2011’s are absolutely good to go and offer tremendous value. The prodigy seems to have gotten thru its teething issues and is compelling as well.
It really does seem like the people running Sig are just professional assholes. Rather...
EGW extended slide release
EGW 1 piece guide rod assembly
EGW magwell
Atlas Gunworks short trigger
Wilson combat safety plunger spring
still need to do extended mag release, spring kit, optic and light.
There is also the weight difference. Internet commandos will always go one about how they will only conceal carry an HK MK23 with X300 and an Acro. Your average person is going to daily carry what is most comfortable. 10+1 of 9mm is 1/2 the weight of 10+1 of 45acp. Also factor in that outside of...
Good to know. I’m interested to see how reliable the brat is. I have a bunch of duramag 10 rounders that have been reliable so far in my prodigy that I got for $34 a piece new. Being able to share mags between guns is a bonus.
Didn’t have much choice. The handle on the faucet broke off and the faucet was already leaking and was changing from a leak into a constant stream. With how the plumbing is there is no current way to shut off water to the utility sink faucet without shutting off water to the whole house.
I had...
Decided to replace a leaky broken basement faucet today. Went to Lowe’s and found out they don’t sell just the faucet, you have to buy the whole utility sink. Went to Home Depot and bought just the faucet I needed. Currently replacing the faucet with great success!
I know the feeling. This is the last gun I buy for quite a long time and was a post wedding present to myself. I had been chasing getting a 2011 for 2+ years.
