And if you handed most of them a check for $50k they would buy some cool stuff and be right back to paycheck to paycheck in a couple months.

These people are also probably in the richest 10% of people on the planet.

Paycheck to paycheck is about a lack of money management more than a lack of money.

Most of those people could double their income and they would *still* live paycheck to paycheck.

The other side of that are the people who live super frugally and work their asses off and then leave millions to some random cat shelter when they die.

Its not what you make... its what you spend. I know people living quite comfortably on $50k /year family of 5, I know people that are check to check on $150k/year family of 3.

This is about as perfect as a statement can get.

I am doing much better these days than I was doing at my last job in a financial sense. It was much tougher years ago. I make a boat ton more now than I did in previous years.

We did not change the way we live all that much just because we have mmuch more money coming in.

We save more for down the raod than we used to.

I did not go out and buy a larger, more expensive home. I did not race out and buy brand new vehicles.

This is a personal money management issue and not a Trump or Biden issue. Many people spend all of their money and don't save anything. I see people I know that I know for a fact make far less then we (my and my wife's incomes) do, yet they spand far more. Bigger houses, bigger and more luxurious cars, etc. They also on occasion gripe that they feel like they can't get ahead or save for retirement. Well, that's on you for poor money management, they are one job loss away from destruction. We could pay our bills on one paycheck. That's by design. It allows us to get ahead of retirement (if things go about average I should be out by 58-60). It also allows us to have resilience in the face of a job loss. Losing a job would make things tight, but we could still pay everything (just). We will buy a nicer house in about 5 years, when our finances are right to allow us to continue to live off of one salary. People need more patience and planning

Lots of things can impact finances in a general sense. Government policies from its leadership can impact it. The economy has natural expansions and contractions in its economic cycle. Etc.

These things should be accounted for in one's budget planning. If just the changes in yesterday to today is enough to catastrophicly disrupt one's plan, then it isn't a very good plan.

I'd say inflation definitely is more on Biden than anyone else at this point. The US printed, what like 6 Trillion dollars between Trump and Biden handling covid 19. Anyone with an even mildly functioning brain had to know that would impact inflation at some point and mitigation measures would need to happen to minimize the inflation impact. The timeline for mitigation was squarely in Biden's court and he failed, quite miserably I might add.

That being said, if 10% inflation wrecks your budget to the point you are paycheck to paycheck, your budget wasn't planned out very well.

These prices are not up just a bit.

Chicken in some areas of the Nation are up 33%.

Pork is up by around 22% and beef by 40%.

Gas prices are up over 50%.

Rent is up by 25-40% in most areas.

These are not small numbers.

Gonna break down a bit, my thoughts in regards to your post.

First point, I agree a bit. More need money managment skills. All generations. I am actually quite tired of listening to the seniors of this Country bitch that they do not have enogh in their retirment years. Their fault mostly. They did not plan well, or plan smart enough (many of them).

It is hard, if not impossible, to have some dependacy on the Governments. It is part of our way of life.

Most people have zero concept of rugged individualism. Made up term for many. I am not trying to sound defeated or make up excuses, but it is damn near impossible to have hard work really pay off with all of the rules, regulations and guidlines that are in place today. In my grandmothers day, she was allowed to raise chickens in her back yard; against the local codes in many, many places in this State. Some townships have a limitation as to how big garden beds can be in ones backyard.

As for the generation thing, all generations have sucked. All have had their strong points as well as their weak points. It does not help that each and every level og government is taxing the fucking shit out of people.
