They are running Black Friday sales as much as 20% off.
All the gun stores in the Westchester area now charge $75 or $100.
What happened to the inexpensive firearm transfers?
Any one know of a place that is not as expensive?

Ny makes it hard to be a ffl. So they will charge more, which discourages buyers. Its by design.

I know.
My brother use to be a FFL.
He had a gun store in Roscoe, NY, "Big Dog Arms"
He did well especially during the summer and in hunting season.
Unfortunately, Covid destroyed his business, he lost all of his transient trade.

A place local to me is $10 each way but the gas money will cost you more than $65. So not worth it for you.

Even if you’re not buying from GB, you can use their FFL search and it’ll list what they charge.

New York made it much more intrusive, difficult, and expensive to operate a Gun Shop therefor there are fewer Dealers and many of those that remain prefer less work for a Hundred Dollars than more work for the same amount. It takes at a bare minimum, fifteen minutes to "receive" in a Handgun between logging it into the Bound Book, filling out a P-12 (NYSP Form for Handguns) figuring out who the Pistol is for, contacting them, having them fill out a 4473 and running a NICS Check that might add even more time to the process due to delays, doing another P-12 showing the disposition, filing, collecting fees,....yea, the days of $25. Table Top Transfers is OVER!
Why bust my ass doing four transfers and only making a hundred, when I can do one or two for the same money? You think the Box Stores are going to do it for less? Please go there, I've more to do now than I can get done.

My local guy went from $35 to $50 a couple years ago. But does the $35 if you're transferring more than one firearm.
He's in Frewsburg NY if it helps at all.

My rate is $35. I’ve had clients charged up to $125 a gun. Some of the latter weren’t even from inside NYS.

I think the highest I’ve seen here is $50. The FFL I use for transfers charges $20, with a discount to $15 if you have a permit since he doesn’t have to run a NICS.

Unfortunately he passed away and the store is no longer open. No more FFL there.
