New York expands gun storage rules and ammunition-purchase restrictions

New York has broadened ammunition background-check rules and approved gun-storage requirements that will apply even in households without children or people prohibited from possessing weapons.

Gov. Kathy Hochul signed the two measures Wednesday. The ammunition restriction takes effect immediately, while the main storage provisions and related offenses in Francesco's Law take effect 90 days after enactment.

Yeah, I don’t understand this either. What the hell have they been checking for with these ammunition background checks then? I mean , before this , what would have prohibited you from purchasing it?

Makes you wonder with all these laws how gangbangers get weapons or ammunition!? A bit bizarre no?

And oh wait... Wasn't there this funny little SCOTUS Ruling that invalidated any requirement to unload or lock up a firearm in the home as it defeats one of the main tenants of the idea to "defend" oneself... Think it was that silly D.C. ruling so many years ago. But NY being NY, they'll pick and chose what they want to obey (Laws)...

You mean up until now, people prohibited from buying firearms were still allowed to buy ammunition? Then what is the fucking point of the background check? What are the qualifications to be a legislator in New York? A fucking heartbeat?
