They are three consenting adults....presumably. Though having one of the three would suggest that there is strife in the situation.

This reads more to me like a pending divorce and one party moving on faster than the other. If this were a case where a woman left a man and "shacked up" with another before the divorce was final would the "new man" be able to keep a rent controlled apartment if the woman died before the divorce was finalized?

if not, then throw his ass out on the street.


But, as always with the "news" there is far too much left out to make a reasonable conclusion of fact.
