I don't even know if it's stupidity. I think voting is a lost cause, but I do my part anyway. A lot of people probably just auto-vote their party because they feel powerless.

The real power in this country is finding ways to turn down federal money and opt out of federal programs. It's not totally a lost cause. Federal grants are the carrot that holds down local communities and states and make them bend the knee. Even if we lose the bargaining power of the fed, we gain our freedom by finding ways to not pay in or get pay outs from federal grants. We need to bite the hand that feeds.
