What is your favorite camo pattern, and why?


I have a soft spot for m81 and DCU. My personal favorites.



I Like multicam. But everyone has it and uses it. I am weird and tend to not always do what everyone else is doing so I own very little multicam. If someone is wearing multicam now, how do you even know which side they Are on and if they are a good guy or bad guy.

As far as less common patterns, I am quite fond of Atacs and Atacs FG, as well as German flektarn. These are my favorite non super common patterns. I also like ranger green, I might get some solid color ranger green stuff at some point.

I think it's super cool. It's a vibe. I think it's very effective as well.

If you and the boys all got flecktarn gear you would easily be able to identify each other too.

I really liked the pattern on a pullover someone had. It was a Cabelas pattern but IDK what it was called. I'll ask if I see it again. (I tried to find it on their website, but their website sucks. Not wasting any more time with that shit).

This is the camo pattern that I bought from Cabela’s years ago and still use. It’s a wider open pattern that does an excellent job of breaking up my body outline when in the bush. It’s called Outfitters camo pattern.

Was always a tiger stripe guy myself, but my favorite is multicam, with woodland as 2nd nowadays.

Woodland was issued to me, few Senior Officers and NCO's occasionally sported the solid Green BDU's with the slanted Pockets (Vietnam era) never saw anyone wearing the "Tiger Stripe" BDU's, thought the "Chocolate Chip" pattern was cool because it was such a radical departure from the Green/Brown/Black we were used to....Rip-Stop for Hot Days, was a small blessing.
Anymore, I think whatever actually fits is what I like best.

When I was in OCS in 1984, we were issued woodland, some of the prior enlisted candidates wore very thin uniforms of the same pattern . I think the fabric was called poplin. It was light and thin, great for summer. Never seen it since then.

whenever I had to buy BDUs I always bought the summer weight. In the winter just had to wear the long Johns under them.

I still wear BDU trousers to rifle matches. Cargo packets come in handy. Solid colors only.

They issued my platoon one OD green Field Jacket and one BDU field jacket. We got hosed. Lol

I love the Night Desert camo as well.

I had one of those Night Desert camo jackets...loved that thing, forgot all about it until now...Woodland, Chocolate Chip....apparently you have good taste!
We were issued Gortex Parks's and Pants under the name something like "Parka, Extreme Cold Weather" which would breath and was water and wind proof, BUT you had to wear the Heavy Polypropylene underwear or Field Jacket/Pants liners...THEN you'd stay warm....had a pair of Polypro Socks that I bought: I swear they saved me from permanent frost bite.
when we were stood up on Drum, we were issued all sorts of experimental Equipment and clothing, but zero instruction on how to wear/use any of it.
