As if they can't screw up this country any more, according to a report from Politico, the Congressional Progressive Caucus is planning to demand that Biden use his executive power to declare climate change an emergency and ban drilling on federal lands and end "subsidies"

It's disgusting to see the sheer gumption it takes to propose this as gas prices continue to explode, partly due to how cost and time prohibitive it is to currently drill on public lands. Clearly, these Democrats do not care about the poor and working-class at all, to the point where they’d impoverish millions of them (and probably kill some as well, given how dangerous a lack of affordable energy can be).

These people absolutely hate this country and its citizens and want to influct pain and suffering. "I’m not sure how much clearer they can make it. And for what? To make a delusional Swedish teenager happy?"

To ban all oil drilling on public lands would not only dramatically raise the cost of attainable energy, but it would also lead to dirtier drilling in other parts of the world, controlled by tyrants like Vladimir Putin and the Iranian Mullahs. What exactly would that do for the “climate”? Is the argument that drilling in the United States is somehow worse than in Saudi Arabia?

What we are seeing here is abject lunacy on a scale seldom seen at the federal level, and that’s truly saying something, given how horrific some past decisions have been.

Once Petroleum is no longer economically viable, other sources suddenly become affordable, however non-Fuel products will take much longer to find substitutions.
What we're really witnessing is a multi-pronged attack aimed at Population Reduction/elimination.
Some 77 years have passed since the end of World War Two, most everyone involved and even many born then have died or become Politically/Socially irrelevant and therefor the lessons and History will not be reminded of, so they will be revisited.

The real insidious part is they will implement those carbon taxes, and rake in boatloads of money, and it will have the desired effect and people will reduce carbon use.

But, they will have allocated that money to recurring costs. And when it dries up, they'll have to find some other revenue source, cause they sure as hell won't be cutting the spending.
