Well, I guess I will have to go. If given the opportunity, I will directly ask him about his beliefs on the safe act and the CCIA and what, if anything he intends to do about them.

Of course I will report back what he says. Keep in mind he is a politician after all.

The apathy among conservatives is frankly shocking. I hear so many say I’m boycotting the election since our vote doesn’t matter anyway. Wrong. Your vote is your duty as a citizen, and failure to vote invariably tallies to the party you don’t want in power. Something about evil prospers when good men do nothing… I can’t remember the quote or attribution right now.

You will hear, well read, me sayin my vote doesn’t matter regularly but this doesn’t mean I do not vote. I always vote, but for the very most part anything above city or maybe county level means nothing. Sure I voted for Trump and he was elected but that didn’t count towards him. I vote Republican senate, house of rep, state level and I’m in Buffalo/Erie county so I always get outvoted by dems. Hell I vote Republican or Conservative 100% of the time. There was one good old school democrat that hated Cuomo that I used to vote for but he retired and since it’s all been R or C. For the very most part the person I check off on my ballot doesn’t get elected. I’d guess I’m around 10%.
Now with the redistricting I have a chance of my vote counting more, but the federal senate will never flip and schumer will be there until he decides no, same with sillybrand. Our state will always side democrat for the president. What pisses me off the most is for the judges there is never a choice. Wow I’m lucky this year since I get one choice out of four Supreme Court justices, but all the others are hand picked. I chick write in for these and normally put any other asshole but this one or why is there no other choice? Why vote.
So out of 15 elections maybe three of them will matter. Over 25% of those races there is no challenger and people wonder why we get pissed.

In case I seemed to be directing that personally at anyone here, please understand that is not the case. I’m intensely frustrated with people I know in real life, who should know better, are very conservative, and yet will not get off Facebook long enough to go do their civic duty. I realize that we’re mostly in a no win situation here, I really do. But I’m stuck here for the moment and have nothing other than my vote to register my displeasure. Oh, and venting to a crowd of similarly minded folks on here ;)

I think believing our vote doesn't count is a common sentiment among Upstate conservatives. I always hope it is mostly rhetorical and folks still vote. The imbalance between Up & Downstate is frustrating.

However, I believe with most things, even the worse, that there is always a tipping point. And it is at those times that our vote counts the most. We may now be closer to that tipping point than we've been in a long time. Kathy Hochul (and yes, I will spell her name out because I want this to show up on search engines) has not ever won this office on her own steam. Two weeks out and the polls are tightening - we've not seen that in a long time.

What bothers me most is what seems to be a growing sentiment that the only difference some can make is when SHTF. Being prepared is one thing, but abandoning ballots for bullets at this point is foolish. Nothing will happen as anyone imagines...nothing. There will be no glorious revolution. No Guardians of the Free Republics to restore our Constitution. Not in this day, and not with the rest of the world and even our own citizen oath-breakers against us.

If you can find no other reason to vote, consider those that have sacrificed to make it so. They didn't do so to give us the right to overthrow our government - (that is not a right, and the Constitution even protects the Country against it, it is a final solution that would end the United States Of America as we know it, probably not for the better) - they did so we wouldn't have the need to. Frankly, I wouldn't feel right about a final solution until I had exhausted all other options. And right now it is getting off our asses and voting, at the very least.

Let me be clear to both Rick and Jmegs and that I did not take your comments personally or that they were directed at me. I just wanted to make clear of what I say that and how I feel. I vote and I’ve voted every time except once since I was 18 years old and that’s only because I was called out of town for work with short notice and I was past the absentee ballot request and I was pissed. I let me boss know it sucks and I value voting.
More of a response and directed at Irick’s statement and that’s to say I feel this way because I’m so close to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. I think I’m more impacted than those upstate(some areas) vs downstate because I’m surrounded by liberal strongholds. With the new districting I’m hoping it will be better but even NYS assembly and senate were heavily Democratic favored. My vote rarely mattered, yes counted, but not impactful.
The Supreme Court bullshit elections have bothered me since day one. There’s only one person running and I have no say in who gets elected? From what I have heard is the powers that be get together and both parties work together to put one candidate up and that’s why this happens. Makes me sick.
Again no offense taken and none given to either on my part so hopefully no one takes it that way.

I always vote, my vote doesn't count, and my picks never win.
But I always vote anyways. But I do wonder if it's smart to go along with a rigged game.
IDK, I don't have the answer.

If elections are not made more secure and the Democrats keep getting away with their shenanigans I will probably stop voting at some point.

At the Home Team Pub in L’Pool waiting on the Zeldin get out the vote rally to start. People are queuing up with maybe 100 here as I type. Lots of 30 somethings are here along with a good sprinkling of gray hairs too, me included. Will snap some pics as things get going and post them here.
