Lead standards bill vetoed

[gunpoliticsny]

A-5541B/S-8050A, Establishes environmental standards for ambient lead and lead contamination, has been Vetoed by the Governor.

I could see this being used in a way to target shooting ranges.

The fact that it was vetoed sounds like a good thing for shooting. Is this the case? Am I missing something?

California banned all lead bullets...................plenty of reloader bargains were on GB a while back. They had to dispose of them all. I got 400 .243 bullets for $25.00

They now have to use copper macerating expanding, Barnes TSX or Hornady CX type copper bullets.......no more lead on deer or people.

It's good that it was vetoed. As with most bills, it is vague and could be construed to include ranges.

I could also see it going towards the airgun community too. Not good. It doesn't just effect powder burners -- it effects all guns, regardless of propellant.

I’m sure that’s not why she vetoed it though.

This would have been the straw that broke the camel's back...pure revolt would have followed here in NY.

No.

Other than me who else do you see talking about this bill?

A few other folks over on airgun forums were. But I get your gist... not many; unfortunately.

Thanks for posting and I truly mean that. It’s very hard to keep up with all this shot and it’s very aggravating. Keeping up with all this shit isn’t good for my health or marriage.

seriously doubt that here in NY , revolution isn't in the cards or it would have happened long ago in this state. Nope just roll over and take it.

and on a personal note, I have been invested in U-HAUL, so you all should start making reservations to move out of New Yorkistan, soon

So I should use Penske?

It hasn`t happened anywhere else in the country for that matter either. NY isn`t the only place that won`t do a damn thing. People don`t want to do anything because they are to comfortable. Gawd forbid if someone lost their friggin cell phone for 30 seconds though.
