Pro-hamas protests breakout at UB with arrests

[Saltwater60]

I know we have this discussion going already about Columbia and merge them if you feel it’s appropriate but UB is in many of our backyards and I know a few have kids that go here. Pro-Palestine protestors demonstrate at UB, Buffalo State

My son goes to UB and I’m a bit scared to send him today after this. I feel this will cause more issues. I’m local and I will go extract him if need be.

"Earlier in the day a student walkout took place at Buffalo State University which was peaceful, calling for a ceasefire and for SUNY to divest any interest that they may have with Israel."

First of all, what interest would a SUNY school have with Israel? Secondly, 'that they may have' means the protesters don't even know if there is any 'interest'. So part of what they are protesting is something that may or may not exist?

They need to say no and no one in or out. If you leave you’ll be arrested. Try to enter you get arrested. Shutdown the internet and WiFi too so no incoming or outgoing calls either.
I’m sorry supplying them with anything is material support to terrorists. They meet the definition of a terrorist.

He was able to avoid the area where the protestors were and saw no issues so that’s good.

He was arraigned in the Town of Plattekill Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail with cash bail set at $5,000.

I've seen worse crimes released with no bail. Must be because he assaulted someone from the elite class.

Deadly weapon? A water bottle? I don’t support what he did but a water bottle can now be classified as a deadly weapon yikes.

When you intentionally assault an officer with it, I 100% agree with calling it a deadly weapon. The precedent needs to be set to these kids. FAFO! FYI, article says it was a metal Gatorade bottle.

How about when you intentionally hit anyone with it and not just a cop? If I walked up to a stranger on the street and clubbed him with one would I get the same charge? I should. I bet that twat in the subway that hit the musician a few months ago wasn't charged with a deadly weapon.

I'm not hating on cops - I just want equal protection since we're all humans. Those that aren't police or politicians aren't a lower class of people even though NY thinks they are.

I disagree because it’s not a deadly weapon that caused the issue but the person with the object. I have no issue with him being charged but not the deadly weapon thing. If that’s the case anything can be a deadly weapon and I can see that but again it should be the action he’s charged with. This line of thinking doesn’t really help up.
