Given the Third-World antics of the Government, I can see hiring someone to a prominent position (Head of the Secret Service) with the understanding that they are to do as they are told and when requests for increased details or protection, that person over the Director has to ask first, now this passes down the Ladder so "you're NOT to engage unless a go ahead is given" Trump gets wacked, the detail gets thrown under the Bus, and the Director is assured tenure with the continuation of the Administration seeing how the one candidate that decidedly could beat the sitting president is no longer a challenger...they've done damn near everything else, why not this as well? They have plausible deniability, and no one in this Administration is going to seriously investigate, let alone "find" anything.

The splatter is clearly on the parking lot (eastern) side of the building, putting the shooter roughly even with the eastern pass-through between the buildings. I'm about 95% sure the northern team couldn't see him. Plus, depending on elevation differences, shitstain may have been invisible regardless of the tree until he had line of sight on Trump. He was prone and behind the crest of the roof from the perspective of all known counter sniper teams.
From a tactical perspective, this is even more reason to have secured those buildings/roofs before and during the rally. The apparent absence of even visible spectrum capable drones for security is mind-boggling. Shit, even my kid has a drone that could have watched these roofs and fed video to a phone in real-time.

How things have been done in the past does not matter. What is *feasible* under the current implementation and interpretation of the law matters.
The "ridiculousness" of the situations I have posed is precisely what all the hoopla is about. It is exactly those ridiculous situations that the Supreme Court considered during oral arguments and in turn stated would very possibly qualify for immunity, should a rogue president choose to abuse the discretion they are afforded.
Prospective presidential impeachment would be a belatedly trailing action, taking place far after the unilateral firing, assassination, etc. The president would have ample time to further manipulate the situation to his advantage. A would-be dictator now has a path to operate as a king.

Sure as hell looks like a ladder stood up against the connecting building between two bigger buildings, hidden from ground level by two tall trees.

In addition to all the details coming out I question the timing. The assassination attempt came right before the convention and before any VP was named. If Trump had been killed the convention would have been thrown into disarray.
