NYC now allows P320 FCU and frame purchases.

[RooftopKorean]

Just out of curiosity I called 1PP License Division on Wednesday to see if by some miracle there was a change in their stance of purchasing a serialized FCU or frame and not an entire gun.

For the longest time, their stance has always been that you MUST purchase an entire handgun.

To my surprise, I was told that frames and FCUs were now allowed.

I ordered a SCT 17 serialized frame shortly there after for my Glock 37 .45 GAP build.

Did you actually get to register it? I am trying to register an FCU now.

“Now allows” Oh thank you my Lord….

3 of them.

3 of them.

Well the party is over, now that we have a new commanding officer down there, they called me and said no go. Had to transfer it to another FFL, since the original one would not let me put it in a frame.

I guess I’m confused. If you have a NYS registered P320, then drop the FCU in what is the issue?

What a joke. It’s an FCU and not a .50 cal machine gun. Can you buy a 320 and not an FCU? Are they aware a 320 comes with an FCU as well as the 365 and other things.

You can buy a p320, they are aware that it uses an FCU, you can even order an FCU but it must be built into a functional gun before registering. Some FFL’s (my FFL)says that putting the FCU into the frame is manufacturing. So depending on who receives your FCU, that will dictate how smoothly it will go. I have met others who have registered FCU’s, but as of today’s flavor, it’s a no!

But correct me if I’m wrong you can’t possess that FCU, but you can buy one through an FFL and have them make it into a gun? What’s the point in that? I see no reason not to allow you to buy an FCU. You’re registering the serialized part. I’ll never understand them.

[Flyingcarpenter]

you can posses an FCU, others have successfully registered them and possession is still legal. The NYPD currently will not register going forward. Some NY FFL’s will not let you make an FCU into a functional gun. So be clear with your FFL before you have a FCU shipped to them. I had to pay 2 transfer fees, because I had to ship it to new dealer.

The fear tactics work I guess
