Isn't this the guy that the FBI informant picked up at the gun range?

ETA: yes

The investigation began in 2023 when an informant told authorities that Spafford was stockpiling weapons and ammunition, according to court documents. The informant, a friend, told authorities Spafford had disfigured his hand in 2021 while working on homemade explosives. Prosecutors said he only has two fingers on his right hand. The informant told authorities that Spafford was using pictures of the president, an apparent reference to President Joe Biden, for target practice and that “he believed political assassinations should be brought back,” prosecutors wrote.

Even after losing 3 fingers? Those bomb makers are dedicated people. Their creations are like potato chips to them. Only thing that stops them is the law or,
a real “full” pre -detonation.

"FBI Seizes More than 150 Finished Homemade Bombs from Virginia Home"

but

"Spafford is facing one count of possession of an unregistered destructive device and one count of possession of an unregistered short barrel rifle."

What about the other 149 destructive devices?

They have little to go on, hence the one count. They may have also been inoperable as well.....

That's pretty normal. The DOJ will file a superseding indictment with more charges later, but the initial charges allow his arrest and custody.
