Eminent domain might occur to make the Micron plant happen in Clay, NY

[Zerex]

The Fed and State Freshwater Wetlands Act, went into place back in the 1970's.............has been ruled to b a taking of land rights without compensation..........UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

As a result not a lot of shenanigans go on regarding wetlands..................

but again:

Press Kit: Intel Breaks Ground in Arizona

New factories will support growing demand for Intel’s products and provide committed capacity for foundry customers.

How is Intel's $20B Ohio One Chip Plant: On Track or Derailed?

Outlook of what's going on with Intel's $28 billion Ohio One chip plant, is the project still on track or derailed?

Arizona and Ohio plants under construction NOW, and the Micron plant will not be needed ..................and it was a scam from the start to CAPTURE the Congressional Seat, now occupied by Republican Williams, so the whole Micron deal is now just stinking bullshit.

So you can’t legally build on wetlands from what I understand so this shouldn’t pass but NYS wants the tax mo who’s they will make it happen. If it was you building a house it would never happen
In the town of Clay, however, the 1,400-acre site where Micron proposes to build four massive factories remains heavily forested and brimming with wetlands. Micron’s only presence there are several plywood signs.

....and if they build on wetlands, they must replace with the same type, size, and environment approved by DEC..... Yeah, hold your breath.

[Zerex]

When the State DOT built rt 481 in Clay thru wetlands........, it had to purchase wetlands to make such a trade..........

Wheres Bob Congel who put a floating mall on Marleys, oil city, contaminated swamp land; that whole area, city server plant to Northern lights, Rt81 , is dumps and swamp.

Guarantee there are more than enough abandon buildings in Onondaga County to more than fulfill their needs.

A small example of well displayed unity.

I've said this many times here. Unity is desperately needed.

If we were a united, constitutional republic, we would have none of these current issues nationally.

We would be unstoppable.

I’ve read that during the depression neighbors would show to bank auctions to ensure the about to be evicted farmer could buy back the property at a lower cost; Community. Often in the middle of the night a noose showed up to remind any “Carpet Baggers” planning to make bids were warned the Community was watching and would correct should an over bid took place.

NYS law also makes it very hard to evict anyone who has children living with them. Perhaps grand or great grandchildren need a safe space to live for a while while this is settled.

Yep. Penny auctions.

Tge govt has made them illegal

My town just said they want to take your house now if you are two years behind on taxes. As soon as you hit that mark they will take your house now. Could be over $5-6,000 on back taxes, and in many cases less. Sad.

"Bust a deal face the wheel." Mad Max
This shows you can't trust government at any level; like we didn't know this.
Next, she must go (old lady) for the good of the whole; communist speak for what's good for me.
Micron can pay if they are ready to dig, I'm sure there is a price she would move tomorrow for.
Looking for a reason to not build in NY most likely after getting a taste of NY politics.

Speak for yourself don’t really own the land you pay for, get taxed on, have to request to improve on….

Eminent domaine threats, ultimately prevailed here, and she is moving.
All done legally.

I hope Trump ultimately cancels any Fed funding for the Micron plant.........it is unneeded and we must fuck the Democrats, lock stock and barrel.

Eminent domain, is not as prevalent as it used to be.................look at any Interstate Highway today, and it has a history, in all states, of eminent Domaine taking the land.

I suspect that ultimately the project will not happen, and a whole lot of solid middle class homes will have been torn down for nothing.

Kinda a weird hobby of mine. I'm always watching to see signs of old infrastructure. Bridge embankments, the route of power lines and hints of an old road.... and so on. I like to catch glimpses of history and how towns have evolved. I have seen old farmhouses that no longer have acreage while an interstate/highway passes behind the house.

The project was doomed as soon as it was announced and the Union was involved. We (US) can’t compete if labor, benefits, construction are all inflated and lining pockets of Unions and Politicians alike. It is another shell game for effect and promise with no enforcement, oversight, or true expectations. The self reliance on manufacturing is real. The reality is you have to make it work with margin and ROI or you cannot have companies spend more.

Anyone getting solar power and a reduction of cost from all the subsidized farms being thrown up; by private subsidized companies? Let me answer, NO. Power isn’t even going to my area and we are being taxed for the subsidies to get them up. So are you if you check your latest bills.

Same with sewer and water.
My parents paid a sewer tax while being on septic, until years later sewers were put in.

[Varmint]

We had a century of slavery, all completely legal.

We sent American citizens to internment camps for nothing more than who their ancestors were. Also fully supported by the courts.

Roosevelt confiscated all the privately owned gold in the country, just so he could inflate the currency.

"Legal" is an absolutely terrible metric for what is right in this country, or any other.

He didn’t get all the…um nevermind

Interesting. My sewer is billed by how much water I pull out and goes to the sanitary sewer. I have a second water meter I’ll set up for my outside usage and I can deduct that.

Columbia, TN area. Sooo many big beautiful old farm houses that are now on tiny little lots right on the edge of highways and in between giant factories, warehouses, and apartments, etc. The houses are probably worth a fucking fortune still, but it's really sad to see what's become of hundreds or thousands of acre estates.

Some of those houses I see are not even near a highway. They are on a state rt that was once a wagon trail. Buildings all around it, old and newer.
That farmhouse created the community around it. Rather it be a town or village.

I find it so cool to peel the pages back to see the history.

Same with my area in NYS over the past 10 years. More and more developments popping up. Not sure why because people are leaving this state. Not sure why there is a housing shortage with birth rates declining. It’s amazing how many houses on my street have sold in the past 2-3 years. I used to snow blow the driveways of 8-10 old folks, all dead.

Because while there is a general exodus from the state, there is an even greater exodus from NYC.

So there are net people moving out of NYC and moving upstate.

I’m as far away from NYC as you can get. I have yet to meet anyone in my little town that has moved from NYC to my area. I will say they are moving from the larger city by me to my suburb at times so this could be it but they may not just move as far away from the city as I am.
