Have you had a 10-round magazine permanently attached to an AR? Im kinda dubious about these kits to attach on our own. Thinking having it done by a gunsmith would be best.
Gunsmith fix magazine to AR lower?

How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?
Short of actually welding a metal mag in, that's the closest I can come up with to being permanent.
Anything else regardless of expoy in a nut hole, loctite on threads, all that is easily removed with tools.
Most people have made their peace that by installing a simple magazine lock, that they are in compliance with the law. It follows the spirit of the law by preventing magazines from readily being removed and inserted. You have affixed a magazine to the rifle.
Anything above and beyond attaching a simple mag lock, is no more permanent than just a mag lock is on its own.
But at the end of the day it's all comfort level, if you want to pay a gunsmith to do something, hey it's your money.

Gunsmiths don’t have any magic potions to fix AR Mags.

Reading the “Law” all the scary additional features (except grenade launcher) become legal to include treaded barrel. Charging handle even has Manual Bolt written on it.
Since the law doesn't actually say what is required other than "removeable magazine", with everything else just being made-up bullshit from heil hochul's gestapo, simple mag-locks, or even just a $0.20 nut from the local hardware store is sufficient. As long as you cannot remove the mag.
I don't think the actual law even mentions tools.
So everyone in the State is playing Russian Roulette with their "fixed-mag" ARs and could be one butt-plugged leftist trooper away from a bad time.
The law sucks and everyone knows it.
I think most people just make their peace with, "if I can show im trying to follow the law, will a DA risk prosecuting me when I am trying to follow the law"
I think 0.0% chance a DA will open that can of worms on the safe act if you have a mag lock on your rifle. But everyone has to make their own decisions.

Get your good boy permit.
Get your lower.
Put on a thordsen or nylar stock.
Or just buy a mini 14.
Or skip all the semi auto issues and get a lever action.
Even better still, leave ny. Not everyone can do that.
Mag locks are dumb as hell for anything but looking cool.
And unless you're an undercover nys trooper, you've left a bunch of evidence that you may or may not be considering doing something that may or may not be legal.

Leaving NY is ideal if possible.
The Mrs and I had a talk about it recently. It's not easy especially when kids are involved.

Not being rude but shit or get off the pot. If you’re not the Tops shooter you won’t be bothered outside of a bullet button model or the one where if you break the action the mag drops out. I don’t think those meet the legal definition. Do yourself a favor and go to a gun show and see all the AR’s with the fixed mags you’re so scared of. Mean arms had directions on how to remove it. Dds ranch has a nice one that is used by many and many troopers and sheriff’s have walked by at the hamburger gun show numerous times.
Do what I did. Install the dds ranch one and if you’re that scared put a bit of plumbers putty in the screw hole and back fill with epoxy. If you need to remove it drill out the epoxy and then the putty comes out easy but it’s additional steps to show you’re complying.
If that doesn’t comfort you get one with the screw head that breaks away. If you do this be darn sure you get a 10/10 magazine with a removable base plate in case of a jam.
The law only states the firearm doesn’t accept detachable magazines. If a mag is permanently attached how could you insert another one? The law says nothing about how much effort it takes to remove it.
Best to you.

Or good jobs with retirement attached to them. I have looked at other comparable jobs to mine and they are half what I make with much worse benefits and retirement.
I suggest that you use a piece of foam ear plug instead of plumbers putty because it will come out easier should you need or want to remove it. But, either works.
Zerex to be along and tell you you're wrong and the SP are on the their way to your house in three...two..one.
"Retirements" from Corporations are unreliable, investing the income you earn will provide much better, and don't depend on just one stream...that's where so many only have Social inSecurity.
Me? I'm going back to Alabam...NY is not worth the angst, the intrusiveness, and control over every aspect of your life especially with a fee or tax attached to it....show someone down south a "bullet button" and they'll laugh in your face, then give you a 30 round magazine the way you'd give candy to a crying child.
The last guy who got into trouble was in Camden last fall.
An AR-10, with Mean Arms mag lock.
Was taken apart after a time by an En Con Officer.
I suspect that due to the good intent of the owner, the case will be dismissed, as it did take considerable time to remove the mag and that is the key to it all.
Capbable of accepting a detachable mag is the law..........but if it takes time..........grey area.
An early AR aluminum mag might be tack welded to a receiver.
Also slathering the mag well with Brownells acraglas, or similar epoxy so that the mag well sides and mag sides are totally bonded by 12 square inches..4 sides.....AND a MAG LOCK, would defeat the En Con, field test, mag removal test.
Hours would go by in an oven at 600*, that might rubberize the epoxy, but the mag lock would still have to be defeated, about destroying the integrity of the receiver., because of the heat removing the heat treatment.
So........you might lose the gun or not........to a cop.
Intent to permanently bond the mag, might save jail time, but.................I am not willing to try until a case is legaly decided allowing mag locks an d glue.
You can still buy mag locked AR's in this state.... I believe.
AR receivers are so cheap as to sacrifice one to epoxy forever, is ok.
Just do it so it can NEVER be taken apart.
I wish you luck.

My corporation is reliable. It’s not really a corporation.
I also do invest in the stock market through a 401K and a 403B. I also have a side gig on line I can work while retired as does my wife. I can do the side gig from anywhere. Next year I will up my contributions greatly once I’m done paying one college bill and in a few years when I’m done with another college bill I’ll be adding a lot more to my investment account. I will be set for my retirement with and without my retirement account but that retirement will make my life so much nicer.

So why would tack welding a mag meet the requirement by what you say? Couldn’t you with considerable time and possibly less time than a mag lock get the firearm to drop the mag? A simple dremel tool would be all that is needed and maybe 5-10 minutes.
You will eventually reach a point where depending upon market conditions your annual rate of return will surpass your individual contributions. Once that happens you've reached the tipping point where your 401k becomes a slow moving avalanche picking up speed.
That's the whole point nothing is "permanent" anything can eventually be defeated and removed it's just a matter of how much effort.
A simple mag lock is all that should be needed.
When all this shit started, the Purple Tie Brigade busted a gun shop in Albion for selling AR's with bullet buttons. The PTB made the gun shop recall all those rifles and retrofit them by filling the bullet button with epoxy. The rifles were then returned to the people that purchased them.
THAT ALONE SETS PRECEDENCE. Not like a court ruling would, but they set the standard when they approved the return of those rifles after the epoxy trick. Anyone wanting to argue that the mag lock isn't good enough should back up their claims with real evidence.
And that's one of the problems.
No one has the money to sue the State, and most of the 2A lawsuit happy groups ignore NY.
Even the Four Boxes Diner keeps saying CA's recent ammo law is novel, totally ignoring the fact that NY had it first.
State police do not set policy, nor can they change what the law says and make shit up.

The tack welding an aluminum mag to an aluminum receiver would require a concerted effort and deface the weapon to remove it.
High Temp Epoxy, slathered around the inner mag well and a Mag Lock, also glued in place, full contact, would require a 600* oven, but destroy the gun. Has to be permanent and sacrifice the $50 receiver forever. to the mag.
A 2000* glue.
JB weld would do it up to 600*
Depends upon who arrests you for AW possession.................maybe

Where does it say or define permenant? It says capable of receiving a detachable magazine not a magazine permanently affixed by …..
Tack welding an aluminum mag to an aluminum receiver would not require defacing the receiver to separate. Even a mildly competent person could cut the tack and grind down the lump, then a little paint, and you'll never know it was there.
And, unless you are suggesting that the 600 degrees is in Celsius, you'll not even come close to melting an aluminum receiver when softening epoxy.
And all of that is moot since there is NO PLACE IN THE LAW that states you have to use high temp epoxy or welds, or even "permanent".
If someone has a link to the spot in the law that states that I would be interested in seeing it.
So we've gone from "accept a detachable mag" to welding, epoxy, and now 2000 degree glue? This has gone beyond the realm of ridiculous. I'll assume, of course, that hochul's boot lickers have used this super powerful glue on their registered and licensed assault weapons so they can crow about how compliant they are.
