Consumer Investigation: What would Hochul's car insurance proposals actually mean for you?
Gov. Kathy Hochul is pushing lawsuit reforms aimed at cutting down on insurance fraud and lowering car insurance premiums, but the proposals are drawing controversy over how they would cap damages for certain drivers.

And us giving illegals drivers licenses. How much of current insurance rates are:
1) Due to legalization of marijuana?
2) Illegal immigrants being on road?

Is it though? There are lawyers in all 50 states and yet we manage to have the highest rates. We manage to have the highest in the state for many things and really it’s pretty amazing, in a bad way. There has to be another reason. I agree it’s because lawsuits in part but if Hochul is saying changing the law will prevent this then nys screwed up something or did it on purpose. I can’t imagine there are this many mistakes that occur and I think a lot of this is to help friends and donors. This is 100% the fault of Lawyers. 100%

With that said I have little hope in anything Hochul is doing or spouting off about will solve any problems. I can’t imagine we have that many staged accidents and that much insurance fraud.
Oh and by the way if it is from the way the law was written doesn’t Hochul owe us a refund like she claims Trump does for tariffs?

NY and California lead the US in insurance lawsuits.
Example, in NY, they have on average, 60% more in court lawsuits against insurance companies that the state of Tennessee.
Just one example
Drunks go out and drive aggressively.Far less than people driving drunk. Not saying alcohol should be illegal. Weed being legal has almost zero impact. Its not the government's job to police personal behavior. I don't smoke weed, but I also don't care if someone does at home. That's their business, not mine.
The illegals aliens, yeah get them the F out. I fully support that.... but legal citizens, leave them alone. We already have laws against being intoxicated while driving. Just enforce those. Doesn't matter if its weed, alcohol, etc. Enforce that, but leave people alone in their own private activities.
