Trump isn't trying to "stop the war", that's a ridiculous characterization.
He wants the uranium out of Iranian hands. That's his primary goal. The war will not end without that.
Isreal shares that goal. That's why we're coordinating as closely with them as we are.
Trump would also like an end to the Iranian theocracy and all the problems they have caused over the last 4 1/2 decades, but that part is negotiable.
Isreal (and most of the rest of the countries in the middle east) shares that goal as well.
In fact, I think every person on the planet with an IQ higher than a turnip recognizes the benefits of ending the Iranian theocracy.
As for Zionism, anyone who *doesn't* think the Jews deserve a homeland of their own in the territory that's historically theirs is quite frankly a disgusting piece of shit.

Netanyahu wants the war to go on. Isreal has had a hardon to eliminate Iran for 50+ years. They've been trying to get the US to do it for them the whole time. The thing is no US president has been dumb enough to take the bait, well, until now anyways. Now that it has kicked off, Isreal is going to continue to do anything and everything to prevent peace. Isreal give zero shits how much it costs the US in terms of money and American soldier lives, that's our problem, not theirs.

Trump has been defying his critics and his adversaries for years. He is far from perfect but he is certainly no puppet.
That's closer to reality than not. Every other recent US president (Democrat and Republican) in the last 50 years knew Israel was trying to manipulate them into attacking Iran. I knew this as well. Somehow Trump didn't get or believe that memo. So here we are....
Alternatively - its simply possible that Trump genuinely believes the Iranian threat has been kicked down the road long enough by every other administration that he decided to do something about it. He doesn't have to run again so he could do what he thinks best for the good of the country, regardless of the political consequences.
That doesn't mean the attack was the best idea or that he will ultimately prevail. The man has zero fucks to give and has survived a number of assassination attempts. To call him a puppet is willful ignorance.
