The US hasn't been "at war" since 1945.
That's largely because congress has utterly failed in their duty, but that doesn't change the fact that we haven't been at war.
If you're going to count stuff the media or some administration has declared a war, then you need to count the war on drugs, the war on poverty, and at least a dozen or more expeditionary adventures.
Was Grenada a war ? Panama ? Libya ? Serbia ?
Were we at war with Russia during the battle of Conoco Fields ?
