And he knew better but decided himself above or exempt from the Laws he was clearly there to protect...how many otherwise good people that mis-handled Classified information, not just retaining it have been sent to Jail or had their careers ended?
I expect Prosecutors had him dead to rights with multiple other charges/instances, but settled on a guilty for one count (which counts as a win) opposed to a protracted Court Case.

I believe there are thousands of entitled narcissists like Bolton who have worked in government and believe the laws don't apply to them. He just happened to get caught.
