Just got notice from SCOPE for a bill that sounds like it would target out of state businesses who sell, among other things, ammo to NYS residents without contacting der eyebrows fuhrer's gestapo:

New York A00929 | 2025-2026 | General Assembly

Bill Text (2025-01-08) Grants the Attorney General the power to investigate, prosecute and seek injunctive relief for the sale of illegal firearms and ammunition. [referred to codes]

This one is really going down the rabbit hole , suppose you're out of state on a hunt and need a box of ammo ? Must be you'll need to call NYSP and get permission ?

I can't see this passing. I realize the left are pretty dense, but there has to be a few with enough brain cells to realize this is not only an infringement on NYS residents, but against the interstate trade laws.

Nope.
I absolutely see this passing once a Senate version is submitted.
The NYS Legislature, under direction of der eyebrows fuhrer, have no qualms about infringing any right, and have already demonstrated they will attempt to affect interstate trade by going after and threatening out of state vendors.
The only reason they haven't been locked up for it is sympathetic tyrants in D.C.

Maybe, just maybe, we can see some actual arrests? Pretty please?

So far, they have not been able to pass legislation making it illegal to buy ammo out of state and bring it here, in large part due to the interstate trade policies. So while nothing surprises me about NY, I don't see where this will pass while those others didn't. But, that said, I'm not going to argue about it because to me personally I have better things to do with my life.

Not to ever discount the ASSembly's ability to pass really fucked up legislation, and with the dems having control of all three levers there is a possibility unless it's killed in Committee: The jest of the bill allows the State to go after Ammunition sellers outside of NYS for selling ammunition to NY Residents without first gaining permission from the NYSP, which will set up a whole new level of cluster fuck...What I see coming irrespective of passage, and remember the fucktards introduce these same Bills every two years as they fail to gain traction even amoung their own who'll pass anything gun control; Threatening letters will go out to FFL's everywhere telling them that sales to New Yorker's will result in the State filing Charges against them for illegal sales...color of law bullshit to scare people in other States, that said, it's pretty damn hard to prove who sold what to whom, and when, but the fear of being sued or having an arrest warrant in another State for making an otherwise legal and lawful sale is enough to refuse the sale, and if you spend or plan on spending 30 days or more in another State, I suggest getting a NON_DRIVERS Identification at the DMV there: It's a simple enough and completely legal identification the same as a Drivers Licenses issued there and can save a lot of ass-ache.
The ASSemblypersons, particularly those from the NYC "BLAC Caucus" have and will introduce shit that'll make your head explode from the stupidity, infringement, and restrictions as they do every two years...Committee Chair is the KEY to defeating these Bills; find out who that is and hammer the shit out of them.
