2 things jump out at me when I learned of this 1- whoever wrote this never worked construction in their fucking life
2- The entitled union workers have Hochul in their back pocket.

Tax payers, like usual, will foot the bill for this. Wake up to find out it's raining and your work was canceled for the day, don't worry you'll still get paid. Business owners will not eat the cost of this, they will just build it into their pricing and charge more for everything.

I concur. I do bridge construction/rehabilitation projects all over the state and far beyond and your normal NY sheep has no idea how much this will increase the costs of these projects . Much like organized labor has

I suspect that this bill is to protect illegal alien day workers, who get day work, not the rank and file construction workers.

Giving 12 hours notice, to not report, will become standard, to avoid any of these regs............. like Jury duty.
Subcontractors may be a way around this, for prime contractors.

Rewarding illegal alien communist day workers, must be stopped.

This is beyond true. My case and point. I’m not going to name the specific project or contractor(s) for fear of retaliation. (Believe me , it happens being an open shop contractor). Anyways, years back we were pricing a substantially big project in the Kingston area, right around 50 million dollars is what I think we came in at. But with project estimates this big , there is always the threat of the owner/agency using a PLA or project labor agreement which is a fucking death sentence for the construction industry due to the ridiculously higher prices to use subpar union labor. And that is exactly what happened . 2 weeks before the bid date they put a PLA on it which is a kick in the balls after all the work we did pricing it. The winning bid was almost double our price and the project ended up well over budget and way over the projected time frame. I remember driving by during that time and never seeing anyone there and the place was absolute shit hole. But hey, that’s what we voted for!! Yay!

No surprise. My uncle was a union carpenter and what he did he would have been fired 95 times in the private industry. He has since left his job, left his family, screwed them all and is screwing crack whore all messed up on any drugs he can find. This is who the unions protect.
He has screwed so many people I can’t even stand it. He left my aunt who is a lovely women in a huge lurch.

MOST of the Legislation is written or at least presented by people that have no fucking clue how the operation they're defining really works...do you really think the assclowns controlling Dairy Farms ever came closer to a Cow than a gallon of Milk in the Grocery store? They've proved my point time and again with Gun Laws...what would make you think Construction would get a pass?

This is accurate. I see this in my roll all the time. They are freaking clueless and it shows. Takes them years then to fix their mistakes.
