Democrat Rep. Kevin Mullin Pushes Bill to Redefine BB Guns as Firearms

U.S. Rep. Kevin Mullin introduced legislation Friday to close what he calls “a dangerous gap” by redefining BB and pellet guns as firearms.

If the redefinition were adopted it would require BB and pellet gun buyers to undergo the same background checks that prospective buyers of AR-15s, 9mm pistols, and other firearms are subject to now.
Daisy BB Guns used an X post to comment on the proposed legislation, writing, “[This bill] would include guns like the Daisy 880. Their goal is to eventually include all airguns. If passed it will treat airguns producing ‘high velocity’ as firearms. [The bill] was introduced… to the House of Representatives… it would add all airguns that produce 800 or more feet per second velocities in .177 caliber, and all pellets over .25 caliber.”
In a Friday press release, Mullin’s office described the current lack of background checks for BB and pellet guns as a “loophole,” adding:

We should define legislative pens as assault weapons.

The legislators should be forced to undergo a 6 month background check and submit 4 references before they're allowed to draft any legislation.

And their bills should be limited to 10 paragraphs, or they're declared "high capacity assault bills" and anyone handling them is committing a felony.

How about a bill that defines politicians as treasonous criminals?

I'm not big into Air Rifles even though I own a half dozen "adult" guns: the .25cal PCP is ballistically equivalent to a .25acp and the .35 caliber just meets the low end of .38 special. if being compared to modern centerfire cartridges.
There's never been a democrat that wasn't in favor of regulating or removing guns of any sorts from those that opposed their point of view.

As if that were really possible...
Legislators don't write shit: they're handed the script for proposed Legislation written by lobbyist, staffers, and campaign "donors" and these assclowns pontificate it's supposed benefit from talking points issued; when you ask them direct questions that deviate or question what they espoused they'll divert or him & haw with nonsensical bullshit in an attempt to discredit you, when the truth is they're literally fucking clueless, That's the facts Jack!

I think someone should shoot him in the ass with a bb gun and then a 9mm so he can tell the difference.
