Heck, even a FOB in the Afghany mountains has this potential carried in on trucks and set up in 48 hours!
If you have diesel, you have electricity. If your Sustainment Command is up to snuff, you'll have food. A couple 10,000 gallon potable water trucks lasts awhile.
When I was at Benning, it was common knowledge that we could do 6 months easily.....at lowered capacity.

There is nothing in Iran that *needs* a nuke. That's why it doesn't make sense to use one.
The political fallout would be absolutely unimaginable, and the physical reality is conventional strikes can do it just fine.

A reasonable scenario is That the US doesn't have the military to invade and destroy Iran at this time . the potential for Iran to become a major power in the mideast is almost certain if we cant stop her . the odds of Iran now interested in obtaining nuclear weapons from other countries like Pakistan ( if they havent done so already) is extremely high. Everyday that goes by Iran becomes stronger. Isreal is applying pressure in Washington to strike Iran, Yet the US cannot deal a death blow to Iran at the moment without ground forces , the EU and NATO dont want anything to do with it , and Isreal wont commit ground troops.
The US is faced with dilema , the options are bomb Iran with conventional forces which wont complete the job. cut a deal where the US loses face and Israel is abandoned , Use conventual and tactical nukes against the military, opening the door for a small invasion force to seize Tehran .
The US doesn't have a lot of options , when Trump asks his general staff what can we do about Iran, they're going to tell him straight out we dont have the forces available . the only option we have that has a good chance of sucsess is to use tactical nukes

Thens theres the nature of drone warfare to consider , just how bad will that be? Assuming the US goes in with high end anti drone capability and it doesn't work to the standard as advertised , the US could be facing a costly defeat ,

Do you want Iran taking out all the desalination plants in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi, Israel? Living in the desert has risks.... Dying of dehydration in a water war is one of them. The gulf would very quickly become inhospitable.
